I have already researched in this topic before but i just noticed it, the 50mm KwK39 doesnt use an APC shell as its primary shell, in fact it uses an APCBC, i dont really know why its named APC in both Enlisted and War Thunder, and how nobody ever noticed it, its normally shortened to APC due to the ballistic cap not being noticeable on such small 50mm rounds, i just thought a rename would be fitting 5 cm KwK 39 - Wikipedia
Iām quite interested in the part where it says it was adapted to the ME410, it would be good to have it.
some shells had tungsten rounds and those were meant for heavier targets such as the T-34, but they were barely produced due to shortages
Yes, apart from that problem, the 37mm and 50mm cannons could never be completely replaced. In the case of the PAK 36 (I think that was it), they even developed a projectile that works similarly to a rifle grenade launcher but is fired from an anti-tank gun. As I recall, it had a penetration capacity of about 200mm depending on the distance, although it was more effective at ranges of at least 800mm.
ye even the 75mm short wasnt completely replaced, and in the middle of the war a revised version was produced known as the K51, it appears in a tank in enlisted as far as im aware, Germany had a massive amount of cannons and standardization was a priority but was never fully possible due to wartime shortages and such.
There are certainly several short 75mm guns in vehicles in the game, some Panzer 4s and Panzer 3Ns use them. I think a StuG also has a short gun. And yes, there were definitely too many logistical problems. There were also planned developments of low-velocity guns for simplified production, and even the idea to standardize the Panzers came quite late.
