i find it one of the worst moscow maps. just too much open terrain and i didnt equip my squads for traversing open terrainā¦
What Squads you run, and with what weapons?
problem is not the weapon, but supportive elements like smoke grenades or arty smoke. if defender is half as competent, he can kill most of the soldiers before they reach the cap cause of open terrain.
Dude smoke grenades are the most useless grenade in every single game to ever exist. None of them work properly. Just use the mounds and cliffs. Aināt too difficult to cover yourself from most directions of enemy fire
in most games it is not a problem cause playerbase sucks, but when you are against competent team you need smoke cover.

I donāt really think itās that open. Itās certainly not flat ground. There isnāt much in the way of buildings and whatnot to dart in and between to avoid enemy lines of fire, but there are mounds, hills, and cliffs to take advantage of. Sure, thereāll be the odd sniper way in the back taking advantage of that one piece of really high ground where it drops off into the quarry itself, and thereās occasionally that one dude WAY off in the tree line shooting in, but you just gotta beat them in a sniper competition and theyāll be gone for a while. Maybe even long enough to move to the next point and potentially make their spot less valuable or entirely worthless
It aināt as bad as youāre making it out to be, trust me
I always equip my squad with assault, iam still winning in quarry as defender or attacker, even if its have a lot of open space it have a lot of good place to make rally
like i said it doesnt matter in majority of cases cause teams you are playing against are incompetent. but look at the map here. arrows show potential avenues of approach for attackers and circles are places where defenders can camp with perfect overview of enemy approach. no to mention cliff behind that can snipe whole area. there are no good places to build rally point for attackers (defenders can easily build behind one mound or cabin or on cliff).
it wouldnt be the first time that i couldnt approach cap cause of openness of the terrain on this map, even though i tried flanking and building rally points on different locations. btw opposite holds true also. i have denied many teams access to cap and more or less kept them pinned on their default spawn.
First off before you begin pushing, you artillery strike objective to clean it. Then you slowly make your way to objective while taking out anyone camping on any of those ridges. I personally take the left route myself as getting up against that far cliff face helps keep your enemy in front of you and limits the number of them able to see you at once
As for where you put your rally point, up against that left cliff face thatās just outside the picture. The part where it melds with the level ground is roughly where the gray zone is for defenders, so it can work to help keep them off of your rallies so long as you got competent teammates spawning there and preventing them from pushing that far down. Alternatively thereās a very small mound on the other side of the bridge. Itās a little exposed, especially once the bridge falls, and it doesnāt do a whole lot to help but it will cut out a bit of walking
Other than that you just have to out gun the enemy and get bodies on point. It aināt the easiest objective in the world, but itās really hard to keep locked down because arty strikes sweep the entire area clean leaving just the snipers and a couple lucky suckers able to take cover. Iāve definitely taken it before, and my team has lost it before
well it is easy to be armchair general. now you presume radio man in the squads, next thing you will want is tank and air support. also arty striking objective is pointless there cause best positions are around objective or on the cliff.
like i said i have been part of both defense and offense when teams were roughly equal. open terrain gives advantage to defenders cause defenders have more points where they can build defensible rally points, while attackers have limited amount of space to build rally point that are vulnerable to counter attacks from defenders. not to mention they need to actually get to position where they can built that rally point by traversing lots of open terrain.

I would appreciate the map more if i wouldnt always get it. I seem to always end up in maisky forestry, quarry or voskhod settlement while never in monastery or pokrovskoe
this probably works out very well in console lobbys.
But once you play with PC master race they quite often have figured out standing in red circle isnt really a option.
