Remove the damage reduction from Soviet body armor before Manchuria drops

Trying to be on topic, since this clearly snowball, as usual,

I’d wish to ask the staff ( @LokalHero @Euthymia07-live @MajorMcDonalds ):

  • Just, this is a redundant issue and gripe among the playerbase. Are devs going to do something about it, has any form of feedback being passed to them about the issue, are devs at least going to acknowledge it?

Because it (this debate) will come back over and over again…

Well war propaganda exists on all sides for sure, but internal testings should be… well accurate since those documents aren’t really made for the public.

It’s still much more reliable than german documents, germans are known for embellishing each wundewaffen

Doubting Soviet sources does not also mean believing that literally anything else is believable above it, more than one source of information can be faulty.

That being said, the Germans were generally very good record keepers, they were just also very good record destroyers as well (which is why we have the paradox of very good quality, but incomplete documentation). Anything discussing practical topics are likely to be not just very accurate, but also detailed and trustworthy (the Germans wanted to make informed descions after all, and military production is rarely subject to political censorship, they weren’t stupid enough to tell their generals that they had any more or less of [stuff] than they actually had).

Uh, now you sound silly.

Ha! No. Soviets would change documents to make it look like massacres never happened

And the Fedorov Avtomat kicks like a rifle

Sorry but this is true, it’s part of how german engineers were able to convince command to agree to stuff like tiger 2 etc.
Should i remind you that germany spent A LOT of money on Ahnenerbe? German trial records are often embellishing and untrustworthy, soviet records are much more accurate because they weren’t seeking for wunderwaffen, they were actively interested in good, practical weapons and their true effectiveness.
It just so happened that soviet body armors are well described and were actually well recieved by troops.
There were also documented heavy versions with armor up to 4.2 mm, weighting about 4.5kg

Actually most German high command was against such projects - its actually Hitler directly who demanded production of those superweapons.

Wehraboos often mistakenly consider Germany technologically superior or somehow trustworthy with records, very widespread mistake stemming from them thinking that germany should have won ww2.

And what’s that have to do with me supposedly being brown? You called me brown, why?

Deeper research shows that this, just like the “hitler wanted stalingrad” are just post war myths propagated by german generals to embellish their reputation.

Quite sure engineers task was to just build what was asked for. And consulted what can be done and what not.

How much exactly ?

Like AVS ? That was discontinued in less than a year.
Considering how poorly it performed one could make a sophisticated guess such short comings would have come to knowledge in testings long before they were sent to “combat trials”

Short answer: Most Soviet WWII soldiers did appreciate their body armor (SSh-36/SVT-40 “SN-42” steel cuirass), especially assault troops, but its usefulness depended heavily on role and circumstances.

So where are the documents about widespread use of body armor in 1942 Stalingrad?

No, but I want to know why I have been called brown. He had no reason to suspect that I am brown.
