rally points are very unrealistic, just place one of them to flank enemy spawn and you’re good to win the match, they provide infinite number of soldiers that can arrive to the point on the map instantly (imagine driving around a tank, securing all paths and then having enemies spawn behind you and start to shoot with anti tank rifles), they simply cant do this!
in the best case rally points could be used to signalize key points for paratroopers to land (but who said they cant land without it???).
i understand that rally points allow diversity on the battlefield since they cause some sort of the front to form, but then again, this can be exploited by putting them in ridicolous spaces, while spawn point altering could be a mechanic run by the game (like in assault), or not exist at all?
i would say change the name of rally point to rendezvous point instead but they exist to cut down the time it takes to reach a point since it isn’t fun to nuked on your way to the point because CAS exists
Rally points are the only things keeping either team competent. Their removal would just make everyone more prone to airstrikes and artillery, and make attacking and defending objectives a nightmare considering some of them have to walk 150-200m away from spawn to the objective.
even if rally point can do some crazy stuff with it, it still cannot be removed since both side can built their own so it is balanced removing it isnt necessary
the only problem is when one of the side dont build rally point creating huge advantage dor the other side
okay, i agree with you, the problem is that soldiers cant teleport to the area where the rally point is located (for realism - they have to get to there somehow), maybe spawning on rally point means that you spawn in a plane from which your squad drops with parachutes? (but this removes option for an actual parachuters - driving plane yourself)
