There’s absolutely no way a noob can help their team if they can’t select an engineer when they need it.
For the past 3 days as Japan i had only one engineer squad and had to resort to mass suicide every 3 minutes to build a new rally point, and that is the only reason i was able to win 1 out of 15 games as Japan.
Add engineers to other squads so you will win more 
I just got the ability to do that today, and it didn’t change a thing, no matter what, you can’t win as Japan, too much cancer.
Seems a bit hasty to change the rules because of your experience today. When your experience in coming days will be different.
It ain’t about my experience, it about new players that need to build! And once I have to go level up other squads it will happen again.
As has been mentioned countless times, sniper starting squad should be replaced with Engineer I squad.
I’d say that they should make it so that one upgrade point (or two) should be enough to get you to an engineer (in other specialist squads). What is it now *typically" 3-5? At least low squads upgrade fast. But, yeah - I understand where you’re coming from.
Honestly, I wish I had a faction to start as much as it can be rough.
Maybe have more than one Engie?
Poor planning isn’t a good justification for significant changes in squad spawn mechanics.

You can have Engies in almost every single Squad. Get the rest leveled up, get the Engie upgrade, and your problem is solved. Like a self fulfilling prophecy
