Both the GAZ and Willys jeep currently have the grenade storage box placed in front of the grille, not only does it ruin the look of them it just doesnt make much sense.
It is not the middle east, there is no reason to place explosives at the front of the jeeps. It is also bad in terms of gameplay, having to get in front of the jeep is a sure way to get shot in the back or ran over if someone else is driving and decides that you should become a pancake.
These giant crates of explosives sit at the front of the jeep while the back has more than enough space to have them, especially if replaced with an accurate crate model:

As you can see there is plenty of space for the crate on the back of the GAZ, on the Willys jeep it can either replace the jerry can or be strapped to the spare wheel like on the Kurogane.
The current crate models are too big for storing just 10 hand grenades, so I also suggest to replace them with new historically accurate models.
