I’ve just recently taken a look at the “new” mp43 in Berlin (I’m low lvl in Normandy) and even if the piece is not that bad… I just cannot use it. The reloading animation on it looks very silly (same as fg42II by the way):
Why does the soldier just toss the switched magazine around? Especially if it’s not empty of bullets and you end up reloading this very same one down the line? It looks very call of dutyesque “I’m trying to look cool” or “gangsta” like. No soldier in his right mind would just toss a half full mag around, a move not even faster or advantageous in any way, especially knowing his faction is starting to lack everything (shell, ammunition, regular equipment) after a prolonged and losing war.
I just propose a similar animation for the mp43 as the mkb42h (and the fg42II like the fg42). Would look less silly in my humble opinion.
(Reloading is already magically fast in game anyway).
The reload animation for the MP43 looks straight out of CoD or something. Misses just the soldier yelling “uuhhhhh yea”.
The reload animation for the STG44 will allow you to throw the mag into your enemies face, I am sure lmao.
I’m pretty sure that reload animation for MP43/STG44 is still a leftover from Cuisine Royale, so the testing ground for various mechanics before even CAT started. It might not be bothering there, but you are completely right that it looks stupid in Enlisted.
(shame that they for example didn’t implement mechanics like malfunctions for automatic weapons that were already present is mentioned CR but we are stacked with outdated, silly animations)

To be honest this animation is not even silly, it’s simply wrong. Our soldiers don’t even touch the magazine release button. They just prefor some imaginary “tactical” reload. MKb animation is not perfect either, but is is definetely much, much better.
