LET’S FUCKING GOOOOO. Well done to everyone who helped to bring this to the game.

Also can we please get a version without the bulletproof shield in the Tech Tree perhaps?

It’d be a shame to not have something to replace the German Rocket launcher considering the Type 97 Ji-Te Dan is a domestic option.

Apologies I had not read this reply. Disregard my last. Thank you for this information it’s sincerely appreciated.

Would this gun be overpowered if it was added to the tech tree?

What about BR 2?The Solothurn only weighs 20 kilograms, while Japan’s Type 97 anti-tank rifle has a base weight of over 52 kg. Could the restrictions on the Solothurn be lifted in the future? After all, Japanese infantry can shoulder this absurdly heavy weapon and run around shooting single-handedly in the game.

so ugh, remind me what’s the point of SITREPS ?

… santa’s players wishilist that ain’t coming true ?

which it’s just absurd.

talking about feedback, no one even mentioned or talked about " contracts " when it could have simply placed behind the silver, or appearance cards.

… which exist already.

so if the UI people struggles to come up with a solution, sounds like we need new folks.

which it’s not asking to make a new dedicated shop to it.

literally everything already exist.
and somehow it’s impossible to do asap.

… for stuff that is already in the game too :skull:

but anyway,
lil event is nice i suppose.
but still.

This will make tanks even more vulnerable.
I guess it’s nice that Japan’s tech tree is getting new gear, haha, but its penetration stat is highly questionable. It’s listed at 180mm HEAT penetration. Even if this weapon had actually been developed historically, it’s unlikely such a compact device could pull that off. If it really could frontally take down Shermans, why would Japanese troops have bothered developing the clumsy, unreliable mine spear anti-tank weapons?

As things stand now, none of the armor-piercing rounds mounted on Japanese tanks exceed 100mm penetration.
The earlier Japanese bazooka variant already had a suspicious 140mm penetration value as it was.

Don’t really see how it would be overpower. Some stats are worse than ofenrohr. Both have 200mm of pen.
But the velocity is much slower with 65m/s vs 110m/s. It also has slower reload 3.9s vs 3.1s.

Someone: complains that Japanese AT weapons are too heavy
My paratrooper carrying 10 Panzerfausts up his ***:

I’ve heard some players tested this weapon early against IS-2s and Pershings. The tests showed it can punch through the gun breech from the front. Buffing it a little is fine, but there’s only unconfirmed stat sheet info on its penetration right now, with no real combat test footage to back it up. If Japan actually had this level of technology historically, they would’ve developed a counterpart to Germany’s Panzerfaust ages ago.
Still, what strikes me most is Germany’s Solothurn — it only weighs 20 kilograms.

Surprisingly, it weighs the same as the unmodified anti-tank gun, clocking in at 52 kg either way.
That’s really odd.
This weapon even comes with a fairly thick gun shield, plus a massive 180mm warhead mounted on the front.
Think about it — that’s got to add at least 5 kilos to the front and another 5 to the rear.
Logically, it should be far more cumbersome to move.
The biggest issue of all is that a single soldier can carry this thing at all.
On top of that, it’s fully mobile while the Solothurn can’t even be repositioned freely, which is an even bigger imbalance.
The advantage that Japanese players gain from having OP weapons in games is similar to the extra privileges that blacks receive as a result of the slogan "Black lives matter" in real life; no one pays any attention to the actual statistics.
Just adding a gun shield to the paratrooper machine guns for the Japanese alone cut their sprint efficiency from 75% to 60%.
It’s a miracle this weapon can still be carried and sprinted with at all.
It’s almost like the Japanese faction was plucked straight out of the alternate timeline of The Man in the High Castle, even sharing some of that advanced tech with Germany.
Then it wouldn’t feel out of place if they just started rolling out late-1945 and 1946 prototype weaponry for them down the line.

If you look at it that way, they could nerf the airdropped weapons. The supply crates are pretty large, so they should come with more ammo.
After all, these are paratroopers, unlike regular sappers who only get four or five explosives max.
It’s not just about the weight. Just look at the Solothurn! It only weighs 20 kilograms yet you can’t run and shoot with it. We all know how this Japanese weapon worked historically—they even used dedicated stretchers just to transport it. How is this not blatant favoritism toward the Japanese faction?

Uh… no it is not… appearance orders can’t be earned through normal gameplay like silver can.

Just because you don’t use them or have thousands because you don’t use them to the extent they can doesn’t mean they should be ignored.

I love app orders… i very much enjoy customizing my squads and never find myself having enough… if there was plenty why have i purchased 10s of the 120x pack they added in the store? Which i’m sure people like you complained about.

I hope you understand how stupid that logic sounds.

Let me get you a hypotetical example.

Japan players demand a high BR Attacker plane.

What they expect: A plane that performs on par or better than its peers at BR 5.

What you offer them: Moved the D3A1 into BR 5. This way they have technicly have a BR 5 plane but it just doesnt perform like one as it is overtiered.

In this case the AT might be fine (really depends on its trajectory and if the shield is blocking to much of your vision) at BR 4 even if it might be at most be very middle of the road at BR 4.

Just noticed that they copypasted soen stats from the GRB on the new gun

There is no way that the huge grenade weigths the same than the GRB one

Your hypothetical example makes even less sense
Players specifically asked for this weapon with 200mm of pen to be in BR 4
Completely different story
