Yeah i heard people hate that but i didnt play that (cause i was still away at the time) so i cant say for that one.
Ironically tho i like the Titan event since i get to use the M2 Hyde. (which is a good way to promote premium squad)

Those events were good actually. Market garden might be debatable but other than that, anyone who hated and complained about it is probably mad for not having their perks and upgraded guns which forced them to put more “effort” in matches…
I agree. I liked them because they were balanced (mostly) but in an asymmetrical, and semi historical way.
I’d love devs to explore that kind of mode a bit more, but…
Sadly there aren’t many like you and me who liked it…
it was disliked because it was crap and wasn’t anything like actual market garden, just a lazy ass event in terms of gameplay where you get dropped on top of AA gun
For me it was that it didn’t do market garden justice, it didn’t portray battle for the driel bridge or actual things used for airdrops like gliders etc
It really sucks how you keep doing these events and you don’t listen to the playerbase about changing the damn format. I think I’m off to some other game, at least till something that doesn’t suck happens
The problem with the market garden event did not lie with the loadouts. While an interesting gimmick for a few matches pure paratroopers for one side quickly gets tiring, both to play as and to play against.
Brother, germany already has the STRONGEST tank in game that can barely be penned frontally but can front pen every other tank in game with ease, wtf else do you want???
I second that. BR1 has it own charms but needs more toys. Like more bomber options.
says the hypocrite US main who has probably never played germany and stomping german teams with overpowered planes takes skill
Take the 80mm HEAT round of Japan’s Type 2 Ho-I gun tank as an example. A friend told me that during in-yard target tests, a side shot used to take out three crew members. Now with additional armor, only one crew member gets eliminated.
Moreover, it can fully withstand Japanese anti-tank rifles. Against Panzerfausts though, the side armor only offers marginal protection, given their high penetration.
people have made alternative suggestions on how to keep body armor with its in game effects. just make it equipment for bag slot. that way there is trade off if someone wants damage reduction. it is unfair that one faction has passive advantage over all other factions on all BR. what is the point of BR when you have equipment that basically lowers half of enemy weapon by 1 or 2 BR when they have it equipped?
also win rates depend on popularity of certain faction/BR. japan has overall shit equipment, but it has dedicated playerbase that can destroy soviets and US.
It’s me!
If we give this gear to assault engineer squads, they’ll be fully kitted out, haha. This is an advantage over the Victory Day event. The rewards for D-Day are even better than those for WWII Victory Day.
This is not just bias. Putting Japanese vehicles aside, the BR distribution for all other nations is a total mess. Instead of balancing each Battle Rating individually, the devs tend to make sweeping changes across entire tech trees.
There is a clear pattern across updates: one nation gets massively overpowered in a patch, only to be nerfed in the next, while another faction receives buffs. This cycle keeps repeating, just like the meta shifts in card games.
Japanese vehicles, in particular, are riddled with historical inaccuracies:
As things stand now, either Japanese weapons receive preferential treatment, or they are historically accurate while bolt-action rifles from other nations have their cycling speed deliberately nerfed. The only exception is the Finnish Mosin-Nagant used by German engineers.
Do Soviet players realize how effective the Finnish-made Mosin-Nagant is?
As for other nations, it is clear that development is slow and resources are poorly allocated. The 20-round magazine versions of the Soviet AVT-40/20 and AVS-36/20 were not added until 2025, and their fire rate was only improved in 2024. Players had to struggle for two to three years with low capacity 15-round magazines and slow fire rates, falling behind opponents armed with 20-round weapons. Even these updates were only implemented as a side adjustment for the suppressed PPS weapon.I know full well. To compensate for the reduced magazine capacity, the German FG 42/2 and FG 42/1 were fitted with safeties. Back then, every member of the 9-man squad had to repeatedly press Y and H to switch to full-auto mode before advancing, which really slowed down the pace.Still, that button was removed shortly after the tech trees were merged. By then, the FG 42 had already been fully automatic. The Soviet side got put at an even bigger disadvantage. German players could fire fully auto right from the start with no need to toggle anything, and they also had five extra rounds in the magazine to push forward aggressively. A lot of things in this game feel absurd, and it’s basically just old balance issues coming back to haunt us now.
That mechanic has long since been changed. Meanwhile, Soviet weapons hadn’t received any adjustments at the time, leaving Soviet players with an even tougher experience.
It is obvious that the team is not impartial. There is reasonable suspicion of improper influence favouring Japanese content. The archivist who fabricated the data is long gone, and no one is falsifying records anymore. Yet those false specs still remain in the game. I guess players new to War Thunder would never know the whole story.
I do not agree with giving Japanese vehicles non-historical buffs just because their real-world military equipment was inferior. After all, historical authenticity is one of the core selling points of this game.
I haven’t read such nonsense in a long time ![]()
Japan is the weakest faction in the game, which hasn’t had a single event in over six months.
The Autohei is the weakest auto rifle in the game. Any strong player participating in tournaments or clan wars will confirm this. For some reason, most players there run with the “weak” AVS-36-20 instead of the “overpowered” Autohei.
Your constant talk about tanks shows that you have a poor understanding of firearms balance.
This defense doesn’t hold water at all. I’ve been using the Japanese BR5 light machine gun for a long time. Back when Japan’s BR4 loadouts got completely outmatched by the Organ and Shimpu in the Pacific, I was really looking forward to a powerful weapon to fill the void at BR5. Its only downside is limited ammo capacity, and aside from that, its strength is obvious.
Its recoil is totally unrealistic. This gun is derived from the Type 4 rifle. Anyone who has used the original Type 4 knows how terrible it performed. Yet this modified LMG has absurdly low recoil, even superior to the FG 42.
Most tanks are severely limited in firepower on Pacific maps, so battles mainly depend on infantry arms and air support. This LMG excels here. It is undeniably strong and mows down enemies effortlessly. It handles even better than the Tirall. Boasting 13.2 damage per shot and a fire rate of 790 RPM, it is essentially a buffed-up MG13 and clearly overpowered. I had a great time using it, except when getting hit by American rocket launchers.
I discuss tanks because they are a core part of the game. I can definitely tell that some tank models are historically inaccurate fabrications made by the devs. I also talked about Japanese bolt-action rifles, which perform exceptionally well against counterparts from other nations and were widely regarded as top-tier during the Halloween event.
I wonder why Japanese weapons cycle so much faster, while those of other countries are nearly half as quick. I really hope the developers can increase the bolt cycle speed for other nations’ bolt-action rifles in future updates.
Type 100 MG? It’s heavy and slow, that’s all there is to it. Machine guns like these don’t fit the game’s dynamics and are very situational, especially at BR 5. The only “meta” machine gun there is the RD-44.
I think you’re just playing against noobs or bots. After meeting clan players, you wouldn’t say any of that.
No. That’s a role for noobs and unskilled players. Strong Russian players despise tankers.
My apologies. I wasn’t talking about that twin-barrel machine gun, which is indeed a light machine gun.
The weapon currently used by Japanese infantry is also an LMG, much like how the FG 42 serves as Germany’s paratrooper machine gun.
The gun I’m referring to is the Experimental Type Hei automatic rifle.
That Japanese 100 MG with two drum magazines has had quite a turbulent history. At first, it had terrible bullet spread, firing almost like a shotgun more than a proper machine gun.
Later, when all Japanese weapons received a general buff, its ammo capacity was doubled and its rate of fire raised to 1100 RPM, matching the specs of anti-aircraft machine guns. Its spread was also fixed. While these changes were historically accurate, the battle rating was left untouched. This put American players at BR 1-3 in a really tough spot.
Back then, Japanese troops could even use a submachine gun with 810 RPM and 7.3 damage right at BR 1. I decided to join the side with the strong gear, and I had a great time with it.
As I already said, it’s the weakest automatic rifle in the game. Not against noobs and bots (they can be killed even with knives), but against players of equal strength. In clan wars, most players choose the USSR; almost no one plays Japan. I tried it myself, and it was very ineffective.
This was quickly “fixed”, making Japanese submachine guns even weaker than they were before.
Previously, in the Battle of the Pacific, American players annihilated the Japanese with 3x9 M2 carbine. The Japanese only had the junk Type 4.
I don’t really know what else to say. I’ll go back and play around with Japan’s BR5 for a while.
I at least thought it was strong, so I bought that machine gun paratrooper squad with the gun shield. Oh right—has that thing been removed from the shop
