I am a paratrooper in the U.S. army and I am thrilled that the devs listened to myself and others when we asked for this mechanic.
I am also a father who plays this game with my kids sometimes I know they would want to access this class in the regular game without playing this game religiously or spending $60
Do you think they are gonna make it to where you can access this class as normal when the merge happens?
Yes they add it, is written in the description of reinforcements received event, that all thing are gived in the event as reward become part of the future progression
Does this also apply to old events? I would really like to get somehow comandos with suppresed MP40
No,only for reinforcements received event so for the moment only paratrooper squad and SPAA get a progression variant with the update

Do you have any proof other than this? Because this description can also be interpret as Main rewards will help you unlock (non tech tree) content that normally takes more time to reach in a regular lineup(if they are in a tech tree).
It is like you can get a high BR equipment through event faster than grinding high BR equipment through tech tree. They didn’t say it will be added into the tech tree.
So most oldies stay out of reach of newbies?
First it got me thinking that why the heck i’m using so much time to the game then.
Would maybe riot if some old dung would be provided to strong wallet warriors.
