Exactly. I swear I’m gonna lose my mind if we get ww2 infantry mode in wt one day and they don’t transfer all the progress and all the things we’ve bought in enlisted to wt. I’ve spent a lot of time and a good amount money in enlisted, I’ll become crazy if this is not transferred and they just let enlisted slowly die.
You’re not alone in this sentiment. It’s certainly a possibility and it would absolutely suck. I guess all we can do is hope for a merge or some sort of compensation. Neither of which really seem plausible. Or shoot, who knows… maybe Enlisted will just become the game we all hope for and blow up in popularity! lol
But whatever happens, we’ll be alright mate. There are worse things to lose.
Well, this recent April fools event is pretty good. So mayne there’s a slim chance that this game might improve
Heck no…this is an infantry game unlike WT. There the infantry is different…I’m fine keeping this WWII AND INTRODUCING THE OTHER GREAT WAR IN WWI…this has introduced lots and can be expanded to so much more…WT Infantry is just starting.
Quite slim indeed. Last year was very thin on content, and we didn’t get any roadmap, and this year doesn’t look like it will be any different. I wouldn’t even be surprised if next year’s april fools event is about ww1 but on the eastern front, the devs could just use the Garford for both sides as the tank squad (present for Russia and Germany in wt), and the event battlepass would bring back the berdan and a few new ww1 austro-hungarian weapons as rewards.
Most of the weapons used during ww1 are already in the game.
For Germany: gewehr 98, gewehr 88, MP18, mondragon, madsen
For UK: SMLE, enfield, lewis, farquhar hill, browning auto 5
For France: lebel, berthier, chauchat, meunier, winchester model 1907
For Russia: mosin nagant, fedorov, madsen
For US: springfield, enfield, bar, springfield with pedersen device, browning auto 5, winchester model 1912 and model 1887
For Italy: carcano, cei rigotti, beretta 1918 (still not fixed in game, it was a semi-auto carbine, not a smg), ovp
For Austria Hungary: mannlicher, madsen
All these weapons are already in game and I might have forgotten some, and I didn’t even bother to search for the pistols. There isn’t much left to add for the ww1 period. I could think about the mg08/15 and mg08/18, the mg15na, the selbstlader, the winchester 1897 (weirdly still not in game), the howell automatic rifle, the rsc 1917 and 1918, the benét mercié lmg, the m1917 mg, and a few austro hungarian weapons. That’s basically all the ww1 weapons I can think of atm, there might still be a few protoypes you could add too, but as you can see, there aren’t much weapons left for ww1.
If the devs had balls, they would just come out and say
“Hey, we know that some of you might not like what we have to announce, but with the recent introduction of infantry into WT, it doesn’t make much sense now to have two separate games with the same game modes but with slightly different time periods. WT has tanks and planes from the 20s/30s to modern day (enven some from ww1 since last year’s april fools event), ships from before ww1 to modern day, helicopters, and soon infantry. It was originally planned that infantry would begin from the korean war era, but with most weapons from the korean war being ww2 weapons, it doesn’t make much sense now to have exactly the same content in two different games. The same game mode with the bot squads we see here in enlisted will also be present in wt, so enlisted would inevitably become redundant. We have now decided that enlisted will be incorporated into wt in the near future. As developers, we will continue to work on the same things we were working on before, but we will now be part of the wt infantry mode teams.”
And then you would have explanations about how everything would be transferred from enlisted to wt, and how some compensations would work, especially about the premium vehicles in enlisted that are just regular tt vehicles in wt (like the m24 chaffee for example).
Hell, at this point they could even merge cuisine royale with wt to add a battle royale game mode to wt, and revive this game at the same time by merging it with wt, because I am no expert of cuisine royale, but it looks like a dead game to me, and I just feel like enlisted is just going to know the same sad fate. It could work a bit like call of duty (sorry, I haven’t found any other example): those that want to just play warzone just download warzone, those who just want to play the regular game just download the regular game, those that want to play both download both and can switch between the two at any time in the game’s main menu, and the progression of the common elements, (like the vehicles for enlisted and wt) would be common to both game modes.
ngl, I was seeing this coming down the track. It really would not surprise me at all if this happened
Please no merge with WarThunder (WT)! Do not get me wrong, I loved WT when it was just a WW2 flight simulator and when actually the simulator part was their main concern. That sadly changed over time and when they started to add ground and then later ships (which I had zero interest at all in) and then moved post WW2, it was game uninstall for me. So also please no moving beyond WW2 in Enlisted as that was a terrible idea for WT IMHO.
That said I would not mind if they incorporated WW1, as that works really well in the game mechanics and how players play the game. We have many weapons already in that can be used but there are also other things that are not in game yet like vehicles/tanks/horses, with the recent event we got a taste of how gas warfare works (they did a good job there, only would need the gas clouds to remain longer and not disperse so fast) and of course maps to fit that new setting (they have lots of theatres of war to select from too in regards to WW1).
This is a false illusion. The foreigners won’t agree to it.
Take a look at CRSED. It is a twin brother that is of the same origin as enlisted.
Crsed has a G coin exchange, but Enlisted doesn’t.
Crsed was not combined with AM.
Give up your illusions.
Regarding the future content of “enlisted”, I’m not worried about a lack of additional material.
I’m only concerned about the quality and production level of the new content, as well as whether the new mechanism and its accompanying entire setup and mechanisms are well-designed.
For instance: In the future, a Spanish battle could be launched featuring the mutual conflicts between democracy, communism, fascism and the royalist party.
It can be concluded that there were large-scale battlefields emphasizing the mechanized/automated combat of infantry, such as in Arabia, Poland, and France.
It can be concluded that the Alps or the Italian campaign emphasized mountain warfare.
It can be concluded that there would be island-by-island battles, or cross-island operations, with ships serving as the means of transportation, leading to an island-based naval warfare. It can be concluded that the first generation of helicopters mainly had the functions of fire support and reconnaissance assistance.
Players with superior firepower can use their firepower to support and guide the robots in launching offensives or defending, in order to achieve victory in large battlefields (like this April Fool’s Day event), adding more elements of firepower support and tactical strategies, such as Katyusha, 152mm/203mm ballistic artillery, fortified bunkers, coastal artillery, flame mines, or more interesting tactical command elements.
Even asymmetric warfare, such as armored units attacking well-equipped infantry and set up armed defense positions, ground units defending against the terrifying air strikes of the attacking side, conflicts between guerrilla warfare and the defense system of strongholds, and so on.
Although World War II was short, there are many elements that can be presented, and many of them are never brought to players by other games.
However, the ultimate factor is only the ability level of the developers and publishers.
PS:The enlisted and WarThunder infantry modes are quite different.
For instance, there are maintenance costs for soldiers, ammunition expenses, medical expenses, pensions, passes, and challenge tasks, and so on.
Of course, there are still countless bugs that need to be fixed and improved, and some of them have persisted for several years.
For example, there is a bug that has existed for one year: When a player encounters a user on the blacklist during a battle, you will notice that he is carrying the “He is your friend” label.
Well, at some point you will run out of WW2, I think only Japan still has tons of tanks and planes that have to be added.
Otherwise, I would argue that most factions have 70-80% of their content plus minus how you count subfactions.
But given that we get like seven weapons and vehicles per update, this could take some years.
Maps ofc are a complete different topic.
Everything you’ve described here would be awesome to see in game, but the big problem is: it needs a MASSIVE amount of resources if we want to see stuff like this added. And sadly, it feels like the resources allocated to enlisted have just been shrinking over the years.
Well, as I said, tanks and planes are only made by the wt teams, and if a tank or a plane isn’t present in wt, then you won’t see it in enlisted anytime soon. I’ve listed the ww2 japanese tanks that are present in wt but not in enlisted yet, and there aren’t much left.
Still, there are enough tanks and planes that can be added/ ported from WT alone.
But I dont think that people want to grind all variants of the Spitfire.
I hope they come to that conclusion.
As mentioned before, I really do believe that type of change is the only hope Enlisted has. And as you brought up Warzone, we know that “combining games” is at least possible with other developers. So hopefully that is being debated amongst our developers.
With so much uncertainty, I will no longer invest. It’s actually been very annoying recently as every time I log in I am being digitally begged to renew my premium account.
Like why the hell would I do that!? Quit asking.
It would be one thing if our investments were being used towards the betterment of Enlisted.
But it absolutely feels like most profits are just being redirected into Warthunder.
You’re just a die-hard War Thunder fan, deliberately causing trouble on Enlisted. A true Enlisted player wouldn’t bring up merging; two different things combined would just result in an ugly mess. You guys don’t even understand WWII history, haven’t spent a single penny, yet you’re spouting nonsense on Enlisted. I utterly baffle the hypocrisy of you War Thunder players.
what a bunch of yapping
no one here is a war thunder fan, we are just rational human beings who can use their brain and see the direction of travel
You know I didn’t answer your first message because I knew I would become too violent. The only thing I will say for now is: just compare the date when we joined. And now guess who has more years of playing enlisted. If you continue on this tone, I won’t hold back anymore.
Everyone wants Enlisted to improve, not regress. I just hope you don’t bring up things that haven’t happened yet, because that leads many people to make unfounded assumptions. If you really care about Enlisted, spend more money on the game and give the developers reasonable and reliable suggestions. I understand your anger, but I can’t allow others who know nothing about Enlisted to say it’s worse than War Thunder.
Here’s the situation: After Keo left, then James left… I even wonder if the upcoming BP will be postponed again. Even though it contains very little content, this content was produced quite early on.
So I hope that the enlisted area can be improved. I also hope that certain pests won’t be able to breed and suck the sap here.
But I don’t have such great abilities. As an ordinary player, I have done my best.
