NOTE: Rifles of BRII and BRIV are not included in the discussion of this post
Those BRIII rifles loaded with clips currently have very inconsistent reloading times and serious imbalances.
For example, G41 with 14.4 damage takes 4.8 seconds to load 10 bullets, but M1941 Johnson with 15.3 damage only takes 3.4 seconds, this is obviously unreasonable.
Compared to rifles with magazine loading, using Clips loading itself can be seen as a form of weakening, therefore, it’s necessary to rebalance these weapons.
Anyway, I arrived at a couple of other stat changes, including nerfing the reload of the Johnson (because, lets be honest, 3.4 seconds is lightning fast for a dual clip rifle, especially with reload perks, no rifle should be this fast it just makes the animation ridiculous.)
Here's a condenced summery of changes I wanted (reasons for them are explained in my original post), for yours and the Devs consideration:
SVT-38
Increase reload time by making it reload through clips.
Buff damage to 12.7.
Gewehr 41
Lower reload time to 4.0.
Increase damage to 12.7
Pavesi SVT
Lower reload time to 4.4
Turner SMLE
Lower reload time to 4.6
Johnson M1941
Increase reload time to 3.6
Krieghoff FG
Increase damage to 12.7 (Already implemented)
Seperate Krieghoff FG ammo pool from all other FGs.
My approach wanted to address a specific issue, that being of BR III rifle balance and damage inconsistencies, and I went about doing so with a across the board equalization; Without unfairly advantaging one side over the other, giving little stat adjustments for several weapons, and avoiding creating new extremes along the way (if a 3.4 second reload is too fast, imagine what a 3.2 reload would be, please it would be awful).
I believe this is a common sense solution to the problem of BR III rifles, as some clearly need a little boost/buff, but others are also overpreforming massively. Both issues should be handled simultaneously, so BR III doesn’t stomp BR II too hard.
I’ll finish of with quoting Valkay from my old suggestion:
Polling time!
Which stat changes to you preffer?

This one
A mix of both would be best - please comment why and how
Fair enough, but that’s just one amongst several of my points.
In the meantime it does remain a concern.
I just don’t believe the Johnson should be taken as the new standard, it used to be BR IV, it used to serve a different niche, it’s stats haven’t been adjusted yet and is overpreforming, just like the SVT-38.
Compared to rifles that use a single clip or magazine for reloading, semi-automatic rifles with dual clips have the following issues: If the remaining number of bullets is between 1 to 4 or 6 to 7, it will take a very long time to load
Their firepower endurance is very poor, and the SVT-38, Hino rifle, and Winchester M1907 make their status very awkward. Perhaps my suggested reload time should be delayed by 0.2 to 0.4 seconds, but if I need to endure longer reload times, I would choose the M95 Mannlicher or Lee Enfield (which actually work like semi-auto rifles and can mostly kill enemies with one shot)
I see this as a compromise for having a larger magazine size, it also promotes magazine magagement, something that if handled properly will allow a great skill ceiling. The bonus of this is that you can preform quicker half reloads (interupting the reload after only inserting one clip), which will keep you in a fight longer and won’t distract you quite as long as a full reload of other rifles with but a single action.
In short, it’s a trade, one is not inherintly better than the other.
If we are going after personal statements…
I actually already use all G41s over Mannlicher, they offer me something which the Mannlicher doesn’t. I don’t think BR II BA rifles are already the automatic superior to their BR III semi-auto counterparts.
I don’t think the Lee-Enfields are inherently superior to the Johnson or the Garand, I don’t think the Mannlicher is inherently superior to the G41.
It does sound more like a preference choice rather than a balance argument, and Enlisted’s semi-automatic vs BA rifle balance philosphy hinges around the point that the BAs don’t become obsolete due to climbing BRs. Both are valid, just require different playstyles, I do run different setups and preform equally well in both Semis and BAs, all in BR III.
Also, I don’t think people should magicly be able to reload semi-auto rifles faster, when the Lee-Enfields are also dual-clip rifles, but that’s another matter…
Don’t get me wrong - I hate semi automatic because it’s bad accuracy. I’m fan of bolt actions, so I prefer leave things to be like now. But guns like Walter is incredibly bad - its reload speed have to be increased
