Prelude:
This suggestion has actually been created by @Valkay, who has not met the weekly 2 games quota in order to post on the forums, so I am posting on their behalf. I still support the suggestion though.
Hello bajtársak and fellow forumdwellers,
So far I have played with three machine guns in the event: the MG13, Johnson M1941, MG34.
My experience with all of them were the same: these guns are way too expensive and can only earn back half of the points a player spends on them.
To compare the prices, you can buy a:
a small capacity machine gun like MG13 or Madsen for 7000 points
a large capacity machine gun like the MG34 for 10.000 points
or you can buy a MP28 (7.65) for 2500 points
So what advantage does a machine gun offer for such a high price?
well machine guns have higher damage than submachine guns.
But machine guns also have numerous downsides:
- longer reload time
- sprint penalty which greatly reduces the ability to train zombies
- move dispersion penalty
Compared to the submachine guns, machine guns are way more situational and their only advantage is greatly offset by the numerous downsides.
The Kroll opera house is a CQC heavy environment, with most combat taking place within 10m, at short ranges like this submachine guns and shotguns shine the most.
Plus we have seen in previous zombie events and mods that submachine guns are the most popular weapon in Enlisted when it comes to fighting the undead apocalypse.
My experience is, and I sure everyone here will say the same, that when a new area is unlocked everyone rushes to get the submachine guns first and once those are out of ammo they pick up something else.
The prices clearly need to be rebalanced here:
small capacity MGs that cost 7000 → 3500 points
large capacity MGs that cost 10.000 → 5000 points
