Rebalance machine guns in the Operation “The Gates of Destiny” event

Prelude:

This suggestion has actually been created by @Valkay, who has not met the weekly 2 games quota in order to post on the forums, so I am posting on their behalf. I still support the suggestion though.

Hello bajtársak and fellow forumdwellers,

So far I have played with three machine guns in the event: the MG13, Johnson M1941, MG34.
My experience with all of them were the same: these guns are way too expensive and can only earn back half of the points a player spends on them.

To compare the prices, you can buy a:
a small capacity machine gun like MG13 or Madsen for 7000 points
a large capacity machine gun like the MG34 for 10.000 points
or you can buy a MP28 (7.65) for 2500 points

So what advantage does a machine gun offer for such a high price?
well machine guns have higher damage than submachine guns.
But machine guns also have numerous downsides:

  • longer reload time
  • sprint penalty which greatly reduces the ability to train zombies
  • move dispersion penalty

Compared to the submachine guns, machine guns are way more situational and their only advantage is greatly offset by the numerous downsides.

The Kroll opera house is a CQC heavy environment, with most combat taking place within 10m, at short ranges like this submachine guns and shotguns shine the most.
Plus we have seen in previous zombie events and mods that submachine guns are the most popular weapon in Enlisted when it comes to fighting the undead apocalypse.

My experience is, and I sure everyone here will say the same, that when a new area is unlocked everyone rushes to get the submachine guns first and once those are out of ammo they pick up something else.

The prices clearly need to be rebalanced here:
small capacity MGs that cost 7000 → 3500 points
large capacity MGs that cost 10.000 → 5000 points

Do you agree
  • Yes
  • Yes, but the price should be different (please write a reply)

You guys are consistently getting into the LMG areas? I think the only few times I’ve gotten past the second area was when my teams got lucky enough to unlock the next area before the wave with the suicide bombers came.

I suggest teaming up with people, talking in voice chat makes a huge difference.

For reals. The BAR cost me 7000. Like, sure, it served me well, but it did run out of ammo, like every other gun, even though it took the zombies down faster. My biggest concern is ammo, still and it looks like that won’t be fixed.

Also, just a sidenote, shotguns suck. I picked it up once and even up close, it takes 2 shots, unless you get headshots to kill a regular zombie. I was better off with my trench club.

Thank you very much @OggeKing, I owe you one.

Apparently playing the event does not count as being an active player so I could not post on the forum :expressionless:
Im a veteran with a 700 day login streak, premium membership and actually played the game, just not normal matches. Someone please tell the server hamster that custom and event matches should count too!

I just copy paste some advise at the start of the game into chat in case there are new players and pray my teammates can read

The ammo box should return; in no previous zombie event did the ammo box make things easier, but now with entire waves of green zombies and elite zombies that consume a lot of ammo, it’s just made things impossible

We lost while there were 2 RD-44’s on 2 walls. 13.000 coins for them is ridiculous- I guess the others couldn’t buy them either. We only needed like 1000 points to win. XD
