So it weighs the same as an LMG, is as uncontrollable as any LMG, but hits like an SMG, and leaves a trail of smoke so you can’t see your target if you deploy it. Why would I ever want this weapon?

Its only advantage is ability to shoot for a veeery long time, but that’s useful only against bots. Other than that, fedorov or dt is better in any way, even at high range.

You trade damage for firerate and ammo supply, why does everything need to be a direct upgrade when sidegrades are more fun

- Because soviet mgs are garbage already, and for low damage I expected to see smg-level recoil.
Instead, I get a piece of shit with btk of smg, accuracy of a shotgun and recoil of a soviet mg.

Cus it’s the only belt fed lmg the Soviets get that you don’t have to pay for, it’s basically an STG44 with a ton of recoil but you’re supposed to be bipoding with most lmgs in order to hit in the same post code, it also weighs 2.6 kg less than the DPM or DT so its movement speed is a little better than other lmgs, it’s ok overall with some advantages and disadvantages but if you like the DT more I don’t blame you

AVT is better - high damage, same recoil, good accuracy, bayonet, can be used by engineers.
Fedorov is better - high damage, lower recoil, good accuracy, you run with it much faster.
FG-42 II is better - high damage, no recoil, good accuracy, can be used by engineers.
MP-43 is better - it has same btk, much lower recoil, better accuracy, you still run faster with it.
MG34-75 or MG15 are also better. Cuz higher damage.
RD is just a piece of shit compared to all highlevel Berlin equipment.
