Randomising spawns/objectives and making gameplay unpredictable

All maps as far as I know have fixed objectives and spawns (excl. rally points). I get that it might be much harder to optimise balance and AI pathing if objectives and spawns are randomised to some extent, but I think it would add to the gameplay long-term if at least some randomisation is introduced.

The fixed spawns and objectives make approaches predictable, especially for artillery and airstrikes, and in this situation I think gameplay on a particular map may eventually get stuck in a rut, where everyone knows there are really only two or three possible plays to get the objective.

Of course it’s fun to increase your kill count by increasing your map knowledge (spawns, approaches and so on), but personally I just think that this sort of gameplay gets stale really quickly.

What do you guys think?

I think is good for a separate gamemode not main because the game core is simulate the battlefield this on lone wolfe i nice

I’m not sure if Dagor is capable of it, but the old PS3 shooter Dust 514 had a “socket” system for randomizing maps.

Every map had different sections of varying sizes, where different buildings or structures could be randomly placed in each battle.

So applied to Enlisted, what’s a stable in one battle could be a house in the same place in the next.

If possible it could add a ton of variety to gameplay.

Well War Thunder already has the different variants of maps with points and what not jumbled around so that’s also a solution if a bit half assed one

For a start, i think every map should have a chance of swapped spawns. So Conquest sometimes spawns axis on one side, other times reverse. (Some maps already have this) Invasion and Assault could do the same thing (except D-Day), plus you can also switch who attacks in invasion, so one invasion map gets 4 possibilites for basically no effort.

Conquest already does that
So does invasion at least in Moscow

All for it. Having the points change would add replayability to the maps.
