If you compare HLL to Enlisted, yea you are more free to do whatever you want in HLL.
But also HLL D-day feel like there are 5 dudes on a beach vacation.
It lack epicness and big scale combat.

I meant that it looks like you can do a lot of things in the game but in reality you can do like 5 actions to not be useless for your team.

Battlefield maps are just bigger.
The other games are not really the same type of game than Enlisted.

well, sandbox is a ( or rather, can be ) various shade of the definition.
it’s not really an illusion.
because sandbox for definition is:
a video game or part of a video game in which the player is not constrained to achieving specific goals and has a large degree of freedom to explore, interact with, or modify the game environment.
not so much for the goal, although you can avoid doing the objective and aim for victory, but allows you to have a degree of modify and interact with the game enviroment. and have ““free”” choices of what you can bring on the battlefield. above all, you don’t have too many restrictions
so it’s a 50 50.

Well. That would describe almost all multiplayer games.
we do have an editor though, which allows us to have pretty much ( within the boundaries ) anything that we want.
so i’d say abit more than other games.
( although… not quite if we consider the base game. hence. why 50/50 )

Enlisted is not sandbox no 50/50 is 0, you need play some real sandbox game for understand, and for real sandbox game i mean the new trilogy Hitman
The only way to put a sandbox perspective to the game is to make giant maps on conquest mod.
Like heroes and generals.

What a sanbox is?
Is where any playstyle is viable, you can customize anything mostly however you want and those playstyles will still be viable
If you want to compete with marshalls and tryhards in enlisted you must spam full autos, explosives, gray zone camp, suicide bomb otherwise you will be screwed from every angle, and your desk might not hold out to you punching it every 10 seconds. Or your hand

This is what a sandbox game is and enlisted is not
I never felt more on Omaha beach then in Enslited.
If you don’t duck and run, you die. And 70 other dudes (including AI) are in the same case as you are.
The MG are overheating, while you have to duck from cover to cover.
You get close to the bunker, and cock a grenade, ready to make them pay.
And it feels great.
In all other game you are just are just playong hide and seek because everything is empty from all form of life.
