Just curious on if it’s even possible to take the scope off of the FG-42 2 in the Normandy campaign. I currently am grinding it and I’ve heard that the FG-42-2 with Vert recoil reduction is a laser. Not sure if the regular FG-42 is the same or if it needs horizontal that would be another question but the 42-2 I’ve heard is but atleast for the Normandy campaign it comes only with a scope and I can’t seem to take it off atleast on my snipers.

In truth, those perks are not that necessary WHEN USED IN SEMI MODE, as you should take time to aim your shots either way. But:
Reg. Fg42 will benefit much more from HORIZONTAL perk, while fg42II from VERTICAL perk.

You can remove the scope by double clicking on the scope when you have that rifle selected

you could though the scope only makes your bullets more noticeable and makes you think you are missing more than you really are.
Wonder how you do that on console. I’ve never been able to do it.
I would guess the same way you attach/detach a bayonet. Not all weapons can but the FG42 II you can

Same wierd error happened when I was trying to fix bayonets too.
I probably didn’t have the FGII at the time I tried to take it off the Gewehr 98 in Moscow.
Cant take it off that one. Only weapons with fixed iron sights can be removed. The 1903A1 can take the scope off but the 1903A4 cant because it lacks sights

Interestingly enough, I just logged in to give it a go, and it does not allow the scope to be removed. Its weird but I guess something is bugged for us console users perhaps.
It just spins a loading circle like its thinking and does nothing.

When I try on console it comes with an error saying not available for Sniper Class 3.

On console attempting to remove a bayonet or scope says something about this weapon type cant be used by said class
Just found out how to on console instead of clicking The equip button twice just double tap the select button.
Secondary question ig is it better with or without the scope and in Normandy atleast is it only the Snipers that can use it or can Engineer 2s use the 42-2 aswell?

the 42II its only avaiable as a sniper rifle rn in normandy. only sniper soldiers can have it.
the 42II its only avaiable for normal troopers on berlin right now and no sniper version yet there.
i have mine with the scope on normandy, its a nice 1 tap weap fully upgraded.
