Questions from a new player

I’ve had quite a few issues getting shots to register, I’ve unloaded what has felt like Dozens of rounds into someone at near point-blank range just to have the feedback just vanish, and then I get merked as a result.

I’ve used both wired, and wireless connections to see if it was just my connection but I’ve had the same results for both. I’ve used a variety of weapons, bolts, shotguns, mgs, smgs, and semi-automatic rifles and just had insanely weird moments where rounds just don’t phase people or grenades simply do zero damage despite being directly near someone.

A recent moment involved me unloading twenty or so rounds of the uh first Allied MG, I forget the name off-bat but the Bren? Or it might be the Vicker I’m using. I fired all twenty at near point blank, and got feed-back that they had landed only for them to turn around and hit me once and ending me. The guy was standing utterly still, and the game just seemed to really dislike me trying to end them.

But other times it takes 1-2 shots, and I decimate a man. This seems to be the case for quite a few weapons, and I’ve had experiences at a variety of ranges. The only guns that seem not to really do this -as- often are Scoped Rifles but a good chunk of the time they just randomly hit a nearby tree to me, and don’t go down range even with me standing out in the open.

Then other times my shots sing like angels, and anything I look at just suddenly dies even when I feel like my shots shouldn’t have connected. Is there anything I can do to improve my experience or is this fairly common, and something that just means if I wish to play that I need to get to use to?

I’m not coming off as a rant, but I am actually curious - are there any settings that might be usable to help me out? Is there any particular settings that I should use to avoid what could just momentary connection jumps or spikes? My internet, and connection is fairly good - and I’ve had no real issue with other games.

I just assume Enlisted might take a bigger pull to play online.

The next question, and I’m sorry that its going on for so long - but is it better to play a particular group aka Allies, Germans, Russians, and all that or spread them out evenly? I’ve been mainly playing Allies but I’ve played some Russian, and even some German but I’m not sure if there is a major issue to mix/match outside getting quicker matches.

Does XP travel across them all? Do they get any particular benefit to playing different ones or is it better to just max out one before you go to the next?

My final question, and again I apologize for the length -but- when it comes to upgrading things is it better to wait till you’ve got all the discounts, and picked a certain set of favorite squads or should I be trying to upgrade all my squads fairly evenly, and just waiting for the silver grind?

Are weapon/tank upgrades a major deal when first starting out or does it not really matter till you’ve got the squads you want or an idea of how you play?

what you describe it could be spawn protection or dispersion

really no, personal opinion

For the spawn protection, its occurred towards the same person a number of times - as in I was wiped out by them, and they were still alive so I decided as they were in a major flanking placement against my team that I would go deal with them.

They didn’t move nor die, so as I came around the corner and unloaded several rounds into them I was met with the same feedback as before then just died.

Unless they died within the few moments it took me to respawn, and then come back towards their position which was around maybe twenty-ish seconds at the utmost max. I even tossed in one of those gas grenades, and saw feed-back of hits that it was making.

I know it wasn’t the smartest move to try and take them out even after I died the second time, but he was in a really good place behind my team and was eating people alive. The second time I died, I switched over to a new squad, and he expected me but I still managed to land several shots on him through a window only for the white-feedback to continue to pepper me.

It took what felt like ages before one of his squad-members went down. I get I could have hit a variety of squadies over that span, and he might have a medic-pack seated next to him but I was fairly sure I landed quite a few hits on each before I was taken down. It just felt off to me.

I’ve read about how Shotguns like to act, so I won’t mention that really as I don’t know entirely how they function, and they feel fairly RNG with how they react at close-range.

I do apologize about the rant, it just felt weird but if I may how long does spawn protection usually last? Just for future notice.

White shield is protection
The rest sounds like a wiring issue
You can try asking your local internet operator
Or change the server region you are currently playing in (America/Europe/?)

Ah, thank you both for the aid.

This feedback, was it like a regular hit-marker or a white shield? A white shield indicates that they are under spawn-protection, usually lasts like 10secs or something (idk the exact value). If it’s a regular hit-marker then it’s likely server issues. You wanna make sure you select the right server region before joining the game, North America or Europe/East Europe (I don’t think there are Asian servers yet). But yeah unregistered hits happen here and there, though not so often, for me at least, that it constantly ruins the game.

Generally I would recommend that you pick one nation/faction and stick to it before moving onto the next. Managing equipment/squads can get pretty hectic the more you progress as you have to keep track of which weapons you have on you, what you can equip your soldiers with etc. Not to mention the silver that you have to accummulate in order to buy all that equipment, which in the current economy, is frankly unfeasable to be spreading it around across the nations as a beginner. It will make progression far slower than it already is, so yeah. Ultimately it is up to you, but if you wanna get your hands on the cool shit that’s waiting for you at the higher tiers, then I’d strongly recommend sticking to one nation.

No. The experience you accumulate with one faction will always stay with that faction. You’re not able to, for example, play Soviets one game, save some xp cause you finished a research and then take that xp and put into the US tech tree.

Definitely wait until you’ve unlocked all the upgrade discounts for a weapon/vehicle before upgrading said weapon/vehicle. This will save you tons of silver and silver is invaluable. As for upgrading squads, pick whichever is your favorite and whichever you like to play most, max those before moving onto other squads. Personally I like to have one or two squads that are maxed with the best equipment/weapons I can have on them, for when things get hairy, and the rest of the squads would be the ones I’m trying to level up.

Early on, not really. The benefits of upgrading bolt-action rifles for example aren’t really that monumental and should be done only if you have silver to spare. Whereas upgrading your automatic weapons like SMGs and LMGs is far more crucial (I recommend upgrading these 1 star below max as the final upgrades get quite expensive). As for vehicles, well it’s really up to you. If you like playing a certain tank/plane and use them often then go for it, if not, don’t bother, also don’t bother upgrading anything you don’t plan on using long term.

Welcome to Enlisted, hope you stick around and enjoy the game

Choose the country you want to play
The automatic weapons team is the main force
Communication Corps can help you release massive smoke
It is best for each squad to have an anti-tank soldier with a launcher
Don’t forget the explosive charges and TNT, they can destroy tanks

Aircraft give priority to attacking the ground
The bigger the bomb, the better
Except for the early rockets of the Soviet Union, other rockets are good things.

Choose long barrel or large caliber tank gun
If you choose Germany, don’t use short barrel because you can’t beat KV1

For the hits I’ve only seen the White Shield maybe once? I just played like three or four more games, and only got that hit-marker barrage like once during that time-frame but noted that multiple rounds just sorta vanished for me?

I assumed it was straight server issues on my part, or that tiny branch near me decided it wanted to eat some bullets. It got me wiped out, hard out here trying to hit a man with a bolt-action just for the round to not even get a hit-marker when he was standing still.

I’ll mess around with some settings and see what is going on, it doesn’t happen -alot- alot but it does happen once or twice a game more or less that kinda ducks me up.

FOR the rest, thanks for the information. I was going to max out the Allied tree for now as its where I got the most stuff least till I decide to move onto I think I might do Japan as they’ve got some really cool looking semi-auto guns I like or well I’ve picked up and did insanely well with.

Its the iron-sights for me for a great deal of guns that sorta toss me about so I try to stick to a flat sight.

For the XP, if I finish a research does it save any of that for extra usage with the nation/faction I am? If I only need 200 more to get a new tank, does it save w/e extra I get so I can use it on the next tech tree item or nah?

Also, yes I see it gets kinda pricey-ish later on but I try to keep either an Engineer or Medic Squad cause I honestly like the support they play, and how STRONG they can be to JAM in a last second push with their support abilities but for extra squads? I try to use a radar team or a mortar team for that smoke, and HE impact to scatter an objective.

Otherwise I do run an aggressive team for pushing, with one shotgun, and sten subs which I -love- with the way the sights are, and how easily you can really impact a guy at point blank range.

For the Tanks/Vehicles I haven’t really found a hitter for me quite yet, I’ve been playing tons of BR 1-3 and keep getting instantly smoked by that 75mm everyone has, and find myself unable to event dent anything even when I hit the back/side armor. I do really enjoy the car/truck looking thing, and atm I’m trying to go up that tank-tree and get the Flamethrower Tank.

I’m not really good at the Aircrafts yet so I try not to take up any spots, while I just try to practice in custom games. I played a while back, not long but abit and I was okay-ish but I’m out of sorts. I think I’ve got…uh, 30 hours now? So I’m trying to learn everything I can, and make my experience enjoyable.

As I love WW games, and Allied has so many squad options it makes me go :eyes: oh yes please. As for the Anti-tank, I JUST unlocked the Bazooka for the Allies and its honestly my favorite thing in the world next to the Mortar. Its mad fun to just watch a guy turn a corner and you’ve got a Bazooka aimed at him.

An extra question though, are the Gas grenades worth using? I’ve had them multiple times just sorta drop at my feet instead of flying where I throw them, and they don’t seem to really do much for me. I try to use them to hit doors/areas of entry to deny them for a bit but it doesn’t last very long?

Again! Thanks for all the help and information.

The aircraft must be high enough to dive
This is very important for anti-tank
As long as you learn how to do it, no tank can escape your punishment.

Don’t use white phosphorus grenades
He’s not as powerful as before
use impact grenade
Objects will explode if they come in contact with them

If you’re gonna play Japan I’d recommend getting some friends on your team that you can communicate with via discord or whatever. Japan is kinda rough right now as they are pretty limited in their arsenal, so you kinda gotta coordinate with your team a little more than with other factions to win games.

Alright so, let’s say you’re researching that tank and you got 200XP left to unlock it. If you play a game and earn like 5000XP, 200 of those 5000 will go to researching that tank and the tank will be unlocked for purchase. The remaigning 4800XP will go to your reserve XP pool which you can see when clicking on the Research tab. Next to your Player profile and under your currencies you will see the reserve XP that you can then dump into whatever research you want with the “Accelerated research” button that will appear after clicking on the thing that you’re currently researching.

Yeah, early Allies tanks aren’t really all that great, at least compared to Axis ones. What you can do, however, is take the tanks you’ve unlocked to practice mode, which can be selected by changing the Game mode above the “Start” button in the lower right corner. In practice mode select your tank squad and you’ll be spawned on a range filled with all kinds of ground vehicles that your faction might encounter. Go around and find the vehicle that’s giving you trouble and just scan over it with your gunner to see where your shells might penetrate. For example you’ll find that a tank like Pz.III N has really thick frontal hull armor, but the turret is not as strong, so you’ll know to shoot it there when you encounter it. It’s also a good idea to shoot these tanks on the range and look at the X-Ray display in the top right which will show you where your shell has gone through. Try and look for ammo storage places on these displays and remembering where they are for each tank. Hitting the ammo in the tank will usually cause detonation, which will result in an insta-kill, so it’s useful to know where the ammo is so that you know where to aim, especially if your tank has a smaller caliber gun.

I honestly don’t know. I only play Soviets and they don’t have them. I only found out recently that they exist while I was looking through the shop for Axis. Given that I only play against Axis and have never encountered anyone using them, it’s safe to say that gas grenades are probably trash.

Hope this helps.

Simple :“Bad Internet connection”
Most notable in dogfights where you have to lead 2x the aiming reticle to hit a lagger
Probably not from your side though since your having normal games aswell
