I looked at different gameplay from the campaign, and noticed that it’s incredibly open, so I was thinking but semi-auto rifles are more of a sidegrade of the bolt-action, so isn’t it better not to use them?
There´s plenty of situations where they would be more useful than a bolt action that´s for sure.
Almost all objective points are indoor. There are large open spaces between them where you get sniped by tanks camping the grey zone.
fantastic thank goodness I decided to start her after finishing the others
AT rifles, AT cannons, or just smoke arty goes a long way.
Really the ability to use smoke arty and use it properly is the difference between winning and losing on the offense in Tunisia. Lots of open spaces it will get you through.
I would call semi autos a sidegrade not because of the map layout, but because bolt actions tend to have bayonets there.
I dont know why people always come with the “most objectives are inside” thing. It may be interesting for defenders if they decide to stay in the objective all the time (which is arguable not necessary a good thing). But most of the time you spend your time outside.
As long as you are not fighting/ attacking in the city map (and even there you have to face a lot med-range engagements in the first phase) you need guns which are able to kill effectivly on med range. There the Ital Ital Semi is good enough while the M1 Carbine suffers hard there. As long as you dont plan tp wait for the M1 Garand I would stick with Enfield and SMLE on Allied side and even on Axis side I honestly prefer the M41s over the Armaguerra.
Mmmh it depends, I have great success with the lil carbine, ( @Rickyd123 would be proud of me ). When combined with the -40% vert. Reduction perk, they become lethal even at mid range. Having 15 bullets in them is also fantastic to storm inside buildings.
Yes I would
Ideally I run a mixed squad of Mod 39’s and the Bolt actions. So I can flip to whomever is most needed at the time, without sacrificing too much on the squads ability.
The biggest thing for bolt actions in Tunisia is the bayonets. The maps are fairly open, but there are enough hills and bushes and the like that you aren’t usually sniping from super long range where the modest accuracy advantage of a bolt action is preferable to a carefully used semi auto. In close quarters however, a bayonet can do a lot of damage quite quickly, and potentially with less indicators that something is going on for nearby players than spamming out a semi auto. That, and bayonets don’t need to reload.
Ultimately, you are probably still going to want semi autos most of the time, but having some bolts around can be valuable for the occasions where you are better served by a short spear than a fast firing rifle. Bonus points if you take melee damage so the bayonet insta kills instead of downing people.
