Question, do you want the MP-717 r (Captured PPSH-41) back?

I’ve seen some people talked about the legacy captured PPSH-41 from the pre-merge days. And I was wondering if you guys and gals want it back, and if so how?

For me, I do think it should return, but either as a event weapon or TT. Seems fair to me

As someone who owns quite a few MP-717(r)s, I think if it returned as an event weapon or an event squad then that would be fine. But it should definitely not be in the TT

No.

I’ve never been a fan of captured gear - using different but interchangeable ammunition is not enough of a difference to excuse its (re-)inclusion. The MP-41(r) at least is a rebuilt PPSh to fire 9mm, the other one is just a normal gun using German produced ammunition.

And, it’s now a pre-merge weapon - without proper reasons - returning it isn’t a good idea.

We’re about to receive the KP/-31 in the tech tree, that should put this matter at rest for good.

Yes because why not.

I do. Doesn’t make sense to withhold weapons from the players for no apparent reason just because ‘oH yOu ShOuLd’Ve PlAyEd tHe CaMpAiGn’

The MP-717 and all previous content should stay exclusive for the people who supported the development of the game years ago by buying the Stalingrad campaign.

Its not because people “PlAyEd tHe CaMpAiGn” its because people supported the development of the game because we enjoy the game and understand that the “free to play” game is not free to develop. I bought the Stalingrad campaign like 1 month before the merge because they announced which weapons and vehicles would be removed and considered exclusive to people who bought the campaign, similar to how premium squads are handled. It cost $40CDN, and if $40 makes me a whale then damn you poor. I spent $80 up front on Hell Let Loose and that game was dead on arrival with no bots, never played more then an hour of it.

It took me like maybe 30 games to finish the whole of Stalingrad for the Axis and I even had time to do another 30 as Soviets and finished that. This was because the paid Stalingrad campaign also had something like a 40x XP boost. You did not have to have Stalingrad to get the MP717 and the Soviet Breda if I recall, you could get them if you grinded but without the 40x booster it would take a few hundred games to get the 717 for Germany instead of 30~ games.

What I will never get about Enlisted is the people who play the free to play game, never spend any money on the game, and then complain and whine whenever the game tries to monetize anything. These people also complain that the game is not updated enough, bugs are never fixed, the devs doent send hookers to their house to **** their ****s off for free, “I couldn’t get my bipod erect and I died–fix bipods”, etc.

If people spend money on the game the developers get paid and the publisher knows there is enough interest in the game to keep funding development, instead of just ignoring the game and letting it die because its unprofitable * cough * activematter * cough *.

Keep the MP717 for people who supported and kept with the game for several years now, do not make it available to the poors, the Suomi from next update is a fine compromise for whiners.

If you want to change something then allow Tunisia and Moscow maps for high BR so we can play BR5 Germany above BR 2 and 3 without having to suffer Normandy all the time. I think Moscow had the MKB assault rifle before merge or am I misremembering? All my MP717s are collecting dust cause I am only playing BR 3 or 2 as Germany cause Normandy sucks and Moscow and Tunisia are awesome.

I own 20 of them so I dont benefit by the gun being brought back at all.
However, I see no reason why it shouldnt be available in a event or for purchase or another somehow limited way.
Im not against adding it back to the tech tree, however devs clearly refuse to do that.

Except the MP-717 level wasn’t even paid. And ‘supported’ the game as in playing is also a joke, because there’s no diffrence between a player playing the game now and then.

Definitely not. The MP-717 r in Stalingrad looked like a weapon added to emphasize the game’s historical focus, and that was relevant at the time. In reality, it was during the Soviet era that the doctrine of mass-producing SMGs, including the PPSh-41, took shape, and, accordingly, it would have been natural for the Germans to see a plethora of captured weapons during that period. But now, all weapons in the game are a demonstration of different doctrines, tactics, circumstances, and the visions of the different gunsmithing schools, thereby highlighting their authenticity. Making the MP-717 r freely available now is an outrageous violation of the game’s already weak ambiance (we’re waiting for the Ofenrohr to be replaced by the factions). I’m actually against adding the Suomi to the tech tree, since it’s the weapon of a Finnish weapons genius. I even suggest the AL43, gritting my teeth, simply because it’s a cool gun.

The only minimally acceptable option for introducing such trophies is to divide weapons into faction-specific branches, including a trophy weapons branch where one could obtain a limited number of a specific trophy weapon (no more than two per class, to prevent compiling sets based on trophies and thereby further disrupting the faction’s ambiance and authenticity). I should also note that trophy weapons should have a unique description explaining how common they were in the army, which could possibly discourage some players from using them, thus better emphasizing the faction’s authenticity.

Finally, the MP-717 R is simply unnecessary; it offers no advantages over other weapons to warrant its use anywhere other than the USSR, and then only for the sake of ambiance.

Fine, if they bring back the actual Stalingrad pack for $30 USD then yes.

This would include:
x10 MP717
x10 Mannlicher M93
x10 Breda mod 30 for USSR
x10 Thompson M21/28 for USSR
T34E STZ
Pv.IV G Stalingrad
Pv.III N Stalingrad

You could get all this stuff for free.
Even the thompson, by just exchanging the ones from the tunisian campaign

That required you to have grinded the Thompsons in both campaigns which were both late unlocks.

Can’t get it for free anymore though. From a sales POV if they released something like that people would probably actually buy it.

Yes. I want this weapon back for all players.

In fact, all weaponry which was free for player at some point for some players, should be accessible to all players at any time

Veterans who gate keep weapons should either admit:

  1. The weapon is so good that they do not want others to have it - so there is an unfairness between new and old players simply because of when they started playing
  2. The weapon is so average that they are gate keeping it so the sake of keeping it unique and in low supply - also not a fair reason. What is the problem is letting new players have access (being BRV Germany does not make you that new btw,) to a mid weapon?

Give back all free to play weapons
