Short story, today I decided to try out saboteur class and so far Im having fun with it but I realized that after the match over, saboteur class shows as premium squad and also gives xp I think?
My question is, is this a bug or intended feature and does it really gives extra xp?
it is an event squad, thus the special symbol. I don’t think it gives special XP like a premium.

cause it’s supposedly meant to be an event squad,
but has been coded to be both.

Surprisingly, this is no bug.
I noticed this earlier and a friendly helper informed me that this is intentional.
You can also see in the squad selection that it says +100xp.
I was surprised nobody noticed earlier, and it was also not mentioned in the announcements about the saboteurs, iirc.

If you read the annoucement again then you would notice that it was always public information for those that can read.
I might be one of the few, but I enjoy the class for what it is. Granted it’s very niche and won’t work in every match, but in more ralaxed ones, it’s rather funny and challenging (you get spotted very easily without the blue doritos).
Much less potent than most squad sure, but I play for fun, never meta.

Exactly.
I’ve shot down countless Saboteurs to date and got shot in the back only once by the class, as I was already busy tracking a target… (I found it rather cool, the guy had balls to come find me where I was, and silenced Nagant me in the back of the skull).
It’s in fact challenging to play it well. Even in disguise. Anyone seeing a soldier running alone, in the opposite direction will find it suspicious and quickly notice the absence of the blue doritos. Then just shoot.
Ppl were afraid for nothing. Like for the commandos class. And the over nerfed paras before that. Class can still be tweaked if need be anyway.
