I’m playing the game on Steam, but the game is linked to a gaijin account. My question is, if my Steam account gets banned, can I continue playing from the launcher?
Id say you would lose it
what makes you think your steam account is going to get banned? 
Because I live in Iran and because of sanctions and… many of my friends’ accounts have been banned.
ouch…that might be different then…as in I doubt Gaijin would care like Steam does
I’m never worried about getting banned from gaijin, I just wanted to make sure that if something happened to my Steam account, I could log into the launcher with my gaijin account password and username and continue playing.
I can log into the test server separately with my account, so I presume if you download the normal client it should work too. You just have to make sure your gaijin and steam account are linked otherwise it won’t work.

Mate had gaijin account Hijacked and banned on both.

Account used from the launcher is a “Gaijin Account” not a “Steam Account”
Steam Launcher → Link to Gaijin Account
Therefore if steam is banned u can still play from the normal Gaijin Launcher as long as the ban is from your side of steam and not a Game Account ban due to misconduct.

Sanctions? They got such of an explaination after getting banned? I always thought that changing location could get people banned due to different game prices

Remember not to forget to purchase the 4 starter packs of enlsited from steam, even though they are not discounted now.
Because the 4 entry-level gift packs purchased from steam require you to log in from the steam platform to receive them.
They do not conflict with the four identical starter packs in the gaijin store.
If you need some cheap gold coins or a short-term vip.
PS：I feel regretful that the world has become extreme and sanctions have been weaponized.

Yes, the “Snapback Mechanism” thing and…
Luckily I haven’t been banned yet. But Steam Support told a friend of mine that “Our records indicate that you reside in a region with which steam cannot do business. The account you’re using has been locked as a result.”
