Well the swiss military is quiet chill. We had no real deployments since ww2 and I thought: When can I have fun with a tank ever again?
very true. You can take your rifle out and LARP in the woods anytime, hell pretty sure swiss can own machine guns too.
Only with special permision, which is close to impossible to get. Our military does us a big favor in this regard. We can take home our serviceguns as long as we are in the reserves, which is very much capebal of full auto fire.
Interesting. I did not know these caveats.
So if you leave the reserves you turn in your rifle?
probably in war thunder
portugal have around 40 or so leopards 2a6, most if not all are serving alongside nato missions.
Got to see danish leopards shoot at people in Helmand with their main guns…it was an almost sexual experience.
Also mg3 goes brrrrrrr
Either you turn it in or you buy it and they make it a “civilian sporting rifle”. This means they change it to semi only.
This is kinda cool and also kinda lame. Would have not minded keeping any of my M4s or Mk.18s.
Mg drills were my favourit. You put on some sabaton in the radio and just go ballistic.
one of the many reasons Simo Häyhä was so good with his bolt action nagant M/28 30, was because he owned it years befor actual war and master his own gun.
you wouldnt belive how much i loved luger pistols in portuguease army trainings…
He was very much a sniper before he joined the armed forces. He picked most of his skills up while hunting and sport shooting.
Luger is arguably one of the most comfortable guns I have ever held. Feels great in the hand.
sadly i never touched a walter or fired it. so i could have a comparable basis.
but lugers. dear god what a pistol! confortable, easy to sight, easy to aim (they stated here, that if you cant aim with a luger, you are no good to the army how easy it was to sight it.)
i belive they arent avaiable no more , was replaced with more modern firearms.
also had a g3 (not a g36, just the old long g3.) incredible strong for only 20 rounds on the mag (usually with only 18)
Heard from some americans I met in Kosovo that Helmand is a hellhole. (Was there with KFOR on a peacemission)
One of the most violent provinces in Afghanistan.
Almost joined the KFOR mission for a PMC contract but the money wasn’t there. How was kosovo?
For a swiss guy hot and underdeveloped. I hated that place, but at least I had good company. (Was the first time I saw a hole in the highway)
it,s hard. but is desirible to save one ammo, still if you got a loader, and we got a loader in the squad. it will be nice to reload it even if need time. still making it whitout losing ammo AND MORE IMPORTANT, not revealing you position. will be quite nice.
5 sec do so? maybe? what you guys think?
still. now i got a better ideia.
if you press R, and keep it in a time, it will change the ammo tipe in some time. if you only tap it and not press it, will reload the next bulet in the sequence, that will be ideal. in my opnion.
I think they schould give us the empty canon we can select then reload. Would be more imersive.
