QoL - In-game player social features

Hello Forum community,

I’d like to touch on the age old subject of the game lacking in social features to allow for community/player interactions.

Since this game’s release, we have been stuck with what I believe is the bare minimum a game should have. We have an in-match chat and squad VC (that only ever Consoles use and most likely because they do not even know it is on) and a Friends list in game menu without a private chat feature.

As of now, Discord is being utilized, and poorly at that with minimum advertisement, as a substitute to allow for any kind of player X player interactions/communication. This not only shows the utter lack of interest in the player engagement from the developers, but it also hurts the players as the game itself offers them no real way to reach out and make squad mates, since the most you can do is add to friend list and that is the end of your interaction with another player. There’s also no way for players to even associate into in-game communities like clans, which doesn’t exactly help foster any kind of player interaction either.

So I’d like to forward this suggestion and ask your opinions about whether you’d like to see any of these features worked into the game. Or whether to leave them out and just stick to Discord, TS or etc.

YES PLEASEEE

For those wondering which game’s social features I’d draw inspiration is Heroes of the Storm.

Sure it is a MOBA, sure it ain’t the most alive game right now. But it’s in-game Looking for party system along with private/group chatting and access to chat channels makes it easy for anyone to find groups and communicate either via the VC or their own group chat.

This is the game menu with channels, chats and LFG feature right where one can see it. Channels are accessible via /join “name” and you can even see the roster of individual players online within them.
Additionally, even if you look into the friend’s list, you can still see players Looking for party even if they are not in your friend’s list, which is neat.

it does look cluttered though

Maybe, but the menu in Enlisted looks much more cramped at the moment with just the squads and their loadout menus. So it would have to be worked out to allow easier navigation, but this could be a good start.

Things can be worked out with time. Just look at Steam and how it’s interface developed throughout the decade or how long it’s been out.

6 years and no lobby chat to coordinate with squadmates is insane

we’re gonna get GTA VI before basic QoL features in Enlisted

I don’t think it’s necessary to have so much. Have you forgotten the reason why gaijin doesn’t chat

Except only global chat is not in WT. Private messaging and clan feature is in WT, so I don’t really see a reason why not follow in it’s footsteps and make it better in some areas.

Sure we can do without global or faction channels, but the rest is more than needed.
