Pz III variants B & E

Is there any reason why the Germans in the Moscow Campaign got 2 barely used variants of the PzKpfw III?

The B variant was build 10 (1937) times the E one about 100 times(1939). Meanwhile the F, G and H variants were moch more common (450units for F, ~600units for G and ~300units for H).
It also fits the time frame of the moscow invasion better as they were the variants of the PzKpwf III in production from '39 to '41.

Espacially the B variant seems terribly out of place against T60, T26 and BT7 considering its armor is even less than that of the PzKpfw II C.

B variant was mentioned many times since CAT as ahistorical and that it should be removed.
Devs ignored that anyway.

well, the pz III E it’s actually the " god tier " for the germans. has a good armor making it the best tank of the whole campaign when angled. and it has somewhat of a decent gun.

but the PZ III B… i have no clue. all i know, is that during the alpha everyone complained about this tank because of the two factors:

the first, being that the tank is very bad…

and the second factor being somewhat more important, it’s historical accuracyness.

because the PZ III B at the time of moscow, it was outdated and only used for training. so answering to the question about why it’s still here, no one has a clue.

Another thing to add: Those early versions of the PzKpfw III A-D did not even see any fighting in the Soviet Theather (A-C were only used during the invasion of Poland, D was also used during the invasion of Norway). Having them participate is kind of questionsable. T-60 only started seeing fighting in mid '41 btw

and the battle of Moscow was late '41; T-60 was specifically a major player in it in the fall because it was short enough to be completely concealed in some fields.
