Push back Vehicles to Mid-Campaign

Moving fighters especially to higher levels will make attackers and bombers much harder to counter.

Tanks also help a lot against other tanks seeing as most new players don’t seem to understand detpacks.

Which is why I mentioned how the damage models are directly from Gaijin. And those are the main problem that needs to be fixed with tanks first. Why? Because if we had a working damage model for tanks some tanks might be easier or harder to destroy which could change which tanks the community brands OP.

Also imo tank vs tank combat really shouldn’t be a focus, because in my eyes they are infantry support vehicles (which is a tank’s main role anyway). Tank vs tank combat (when it happens) is simply one trying to deny the support the other provides for their infantry in hopes of either halting an enemy push or initiating a friendly breakthrough. However without friendly infantry a tank is just waiting for that juicy detpack in any soldier’s pockets to fly right next to it and blow it up. Doesn’t matter if it’s a Jumbo, doesn’t matter if it’s a Panther, a detpack doesn’t discriminate (as I’ve mentioned, sometimes they can survive simply because the damage models are weird).

Tanks have really limited vision and since they rely on their turret rotation speed to spot any sneaky infantry trying to catch them off guard they rely very heavily on friendly infantry to keep their sides and rear covered. That is, unless there’s a weird anomaly on the battlefield that keeps slowly killing anyone past a certain line that keeps the tank safe (I am refering to the gray zone here lol).

I don’t play tanks (except today to complete the event task) but I’d be all for a mechanic that rewarded infantry to work closer with and help protect tanks. That way, when I kill a tank with a det pack, I can also, hopefully, bag 5-6 infantry kills.

at least have the game mention some of the more “advanced”/lesser known features of enlisted- cooking detpacks, sneaking up on a tank, ducking to save yourself from explosions…
so loading screen tips

There are tutorials and practice for learning how to use vehicles. It’s a waste of everyone else’s time to have people unfamiliar with vehicles using them.

No one will ever get familiar with a vehicle if you don’t allow them to use them, and the current tutorials are very lacking

New players don’t need to get familiar with vehicles before they’re familiar with infantry. This is an infantry-centric game, and it needs to show in the progression beyond just having paltry-pickings for vehicles overall.

The way this game is design requires the usage of vehicles to push and defend certain objectives without it becoming a WW1 style engagement where neither side would be able to push.

I’ve not seen this in the game design, but given that I generally play the role of a support, I’m focused more on ensuring better flanking attacks. As it is right now, the infantry generally resort to WW1 tactics out of a failure to understand how to use the infantry classes rather than tanks.

New players need to get familiar with vehicles in order for them to use them adequately and also counter them in the battlefield.

Players don’t need to become familiar with vehicles early on, they need to become familiar with core classes of the game, the rifleman, engineer, and assaulter. If they want to counter tanks, they should use their AT squads, which are effective counters to tanks as it stands if not sheer Explosive Pack overload.

If they don’t know how tanks work, they would not know how to approach them and destroy them effectively.

I don’t even know where to start with this. They see how the tanks kill them, and either learn and adapt, or repeat and die all over again. If they receive an AT squad, that gives them more of a focus to use against tanks if they’re at all interested and then they can learn how to hunt tanks with those weapons.

What this game needs are better vehicle tutorials, that do not only show controls, but also strengths and weaknesses, so new players could get in a match with a decent idea of how such things work

On this, we both agree. Even if it’s just a short tutorial that unlocks with each squad as they unlock them.
