High capacity guns such as the MG-34 with double drum mags and PPSH-41 with their drum mags are way too OP and even more OP when you can have 4 of them in a squad. Same goes with all the late stage trooper guns (FG-42, M2 Carbine, AVS-36, ZH-29) since you can outfit every person in a squad with these.
For the High capacity guns I think they need two nerfs. One being a nerf to the gun itself. For example the PPSH-41 with drum mags needs some more recoil, I also think a nerf to it’s reload time and walking speed would be good as well. Then for the second nerf I think they should be limited to only 1 gun a squad.
Then for the late trooper guns I think they should either get the same treatment as the high capacity guns or only be usable by a radio operator or a an engineer.
I’m currently in the middle of working on number crunching for normandy weapons, and if it were implemented with better recoil numbers, then yeah, but in it’s present state, it’s less effective than an M1 Garand or Gewehr 43 by the numbers. It just matches the close range overall effectiveness of the Gewehr 43 once you factor in recoil. Not really ideal unless it was near a starter weapon, lol.
Do they even have double drums for the mg34? In Normandy we only have a 50 rd drum, not sure about Moscow. Nerfing won’t do anything other than make the game boring. We’re supposed to have good guns. The guns don’t have as much impact as the 500 lb bombs and rockets that constantly rain with precision. Mg nests get blown up by tanks with 1 shot. So I don’t agree to nerf them. They lowered the fg42 ammo down to 40 rds only. It has a lot of recoil and I ain’t gonna use it like a carbine, so I switched back to the gewehr.
The FG42 has under half the recoil of the Gewehr dude, you single fire it, and it’s a double capacity Gewehr with half the recoil. Wtf are you smoking.
