Bipod mechanics can be very hard to implement into games.
Enlisted bipods are mediocre at best. Useable on flat surface but completelty useless on aimed surface.
This manifests very strongly in maps d day, ver sur mer etc…
Devs clearly showed that they are incapable of/ have no intent to code proper bipod mechanics.
They may copy isonzo’s auto bipod but i am skeptical about their capabilities to do so.
So only possible and easiest option left is this.
When you are at prone position, bipod effect automatically works.
Two game did it excellently :
Battlefield 1
Call of duty 1 ( very first cod game)
And probably many more but i cant remember all of them
prone used to decrease recoil significantly with all weapons.
for a while it was the only workaround for kiralys insane recoil.
Id say even that was / is better option than what we have had for few years.
It would be nice to give weapons with bipods a raise over what they are mounted on, and some depression. When weapons are mounted there is no depression and they are mounted directly onto the surface which makes it hard to defend areas.
You can bind bipod to right mouse so it deploys automatically if you aim. Only a bandaid fix but better than nothing.
I like verduns bipod system the most out of all the games I’ve played (a bonus is when the gun is being pointed at a different direction as when it is placed is swivels on the bipod like in real life and the bipod is not just dragged across the ground)
