In my opinion 5 levels will be better than 10 levels. less segregation of players.
Example.:
SMG
Rank 1: Low rate of fire, low ammo capacity, low caliber. These are the guidelines of this level:
-MP 28

-M3A1
-M50
-STEN

Rank 2: Higher rate of fire, higher ammo capacity, better damage.
-MP 28 (32)
-MP 34
-MP38
-Beretta M1

Tier 3: Increased rate of fire, higher ammo capacity, better damage.
-MP 35
-MP 40
-Beretta M38 (20)
-Beretta Model 38/42
-Thompson M1A1
-PPS-42

Rank 4: High rate of fire, large magazines. Good customs etc.
-Beretta M38 (40)
-Thompson M1
-Thompson M1928
-PPS-43
-PPSh-41 (35)

Rank 5: Best rate of fire, Large magazines, Good accuracy.

how about no SMG on first 2 tiers?

This is my loose suggestion. It will definitely be better than 10 levels as proposed by the game developers.

Early smgs are ok, tried using MP 18 prem squad, or early PPD? It is ok to put them in tier 1

this is for pure gameplay reasons and bolt purism. people would want to have fun with only bolties and no smg. this is not for balance.

also 5 seems just not enough tiers… there was better suggestion with 6-7 levels. although i think that DF will keep original 10 just for grind.

I understand, I too enjoy some ba, or not some, but early crappy smgs will be there for options and diversity reasons, like, bas are bad for cqc and taking over points, it would be fine by me if sa pistols were also allowed in potential ba mode even

The issue with 5 is that it doesn’t work well with tanks which were my issuer so decided to use 6 levels.

5-6 ranks is enough, you just need to use the tree template from war thunder, these are ranks anyway, not battle rating
