Problems assigning perks

Hi guys

I recently posted a question regarding perk assingment. For the first time, I tried to assign some good perks to a soldier with maximum rank. On the «soldier tab», I selected the «choose new perk» button.

Then, on the following screen, the system proposed three different perks. I chose the proposed «+35% vitality perk» by clicking the blue «receive perk» button. The other two proposed perks were useless, but I couldn’t find a way to change them – the only option was to receive these two useless perks as well. My intention was to change them later.

It then looked like this – correct with the +35% vitality perk, but I still want to change the first, yellow perk (+10.5% speed of decreasing of the shot spread after quick turning). When I clicked on this perk, I got a message if I want to change that perk, by having to retrain the soldier. I did that. However, again and as above, I got offerend a new set of (useless) perks. I couldn’t choose the perk I want, the system just offers new perks.

When I fiddled around a bit, I ended up like this – looks like I can no longer change the perks.

What did I do wrong? Is it a bug or am I too stupid? I just want to pick a perk which is suitable to my gaming style, but this doesn’t seem to be possible. Why does this process has to be so overly complicated and not intuitive?

You have this perk because it’s a “class perk”. So all your rifleman class soldiers have it.

You can check class perks in the campaign tab for example.

As you can see, all my assaulters 1 have the climbing speed perk mentioned in the squad description.
