Prestige system

I know it’s a good thing that the new changes and the full release aren’t going to come with a reset on progress, but I’m slightly concerned that once the tech tree is implemented I’ll pretty much already have everything unlocked. Again, not a bad thing - but I’m one of those people who likes some progress to be working towards.

It would be good if you had the OPTION to turn in all your progress once you reach a certain stage and start then from scratch in exchange for a prestige rank of some sort. Nothing would be effected gameplay wise - its more a reputation/status/bragging rights thing, with maybe something cosmetic.

Again, there could be a separate prestige system for each faction so you could still keep a well equipped faction and reset one to start working on prestige.

I know Hunt: Showdown does this - totally unrelated game I’ve played very little of - but I think it would be really nice idea.

It would also keep things varied as it would give a reason to go back to early game gear - reduce the number of top level players only using full auto and top level gear and help ensure there are still a good number of good players with lower equipment ratings for the new matchmaking so its not just a stomp every time an experienced player decides to go in with low level gear.

Me personally, I never liked a prestige system. But then again, I’m not a big fan of just giving in all my progress and unlockables just for a shiny badge next to my name. But that’s just me.

I get why people would want this, and I don’t see why it would be a bad idea.
Maybe to make it more appealing to people like me, it should come with some cool new weapon, gadget or perk set with each time you do this. To make it worth a little more than just a shiny set of pixels next to your name.

I think it’s safe to assume that there will be new unlocks when progression change happens.
It’s also reasonable to assume that the new progression system will not be nearly as easy as the current system, so I wouldn’t worry about the lack of a future grind.
