Nope, these squads only have 4 soldiers and this turns them into dogshit. As someone with the CBT squads, i never use them because i already have better squads with 7 soldiers

The new engineers squad are powerful as they can build MG nests straight away compared to the horrendus grind on engineer 2s
But once that grind is done (and everyone will get there eventually), they offer no advantage at all over the engi squad 2 from campaign tree, being limited in soldier numbers, only one type of class and with a lackluster weapon they can’t exchange to a better one after progressing through campaign tree.
It’s a pretty steep fee to pay for the MG nests, if you ask me. Engi squad 1 is a very early unlock and does everything except those nests.

The premium engineer squads are stupidly overpriced for what they are.
Faster build speeds and MG nests are barely worth 1/3 the price they are charging for them.
If premium squads ever did make the game P2W it would only apply to the tiny percentage of people foolish enough to spend a fortune on barely superior squads.

P2W is a stretch. Others have already said it, but it’s very overpriced for what you get, which is MG nest builds, special guns and soldiers that cannot be swapped out, and bonus campaign XP, and that’s it.
Prem squads are just not worth it. The SMG squad I got for CBT was worth it at the time since you could customize them with more soldiers, and it came with early access of course. Now, i’ve stripped them of their backpacks and gear and left them to sit around the barracks drinking coffee and reading the paper, polishing their redundant weapons.

Premium squads are a depressing joke because of people like you.
I have several, I use none because my normal squads became lightyears better than the premium one in 2 games. They aren’t worth the money. It’s an insult.

You should level up faster and have minimal advantage compared to non premium in perks.
You win without paying too - and as good as with premium squads!
It’s also for collectors maybe.
Premium squads were P2W, but it is not the case anymore after nerfs. The problem with those squads was in perks, squad composition, and weapons being objectively better than F2P counterparts (MP41, MG30 for example).
Those aspects were nerfed (well, over nerfed), so perks are not really a big issue anymore, logic of releasing further premium weapons that are giving you too much advantage also seems to be solved with new squads. The problem is, that while squad composition was nerfed, that aspect was over nerfed.
So now premium squads are tied to 4 people only… which was NOT requested by the community.
So to sum it up, they were horribly P2W BEFORE nerfs, but that is no longer the case. In fact, I agree that some of their manpower should be restored, as long as they are not going to have the same composition as before nerfs (that means no more full assaulter/gunner/whatever squads).

I know, I have it right now and I ask for a rework. Fg42 shouldn’t be so easily obtained. I get one fg42 almost every 5 orders now . It’s just wrong
All the cool shit added in this update is behind a paywall, i’m so disappointed.
The Thompson, PTRS and T-50 aren’t. But they are in the final levels of the campaigns so a lot of people won’t see them for weeks (months?).
Pay to win huh? Well I have them and still lose 85% of the matches on Normandy Squads.
