I don’t know if it has been discussed yet but looking at the forum it seems that there are a lot of people that like historical accuracy (me included).
M24 chaffee was first used in combat in very late 1944 so it is 100% certain that it didn’t see action in normandy
and
Panzer 3 M, The 12th panzer regiment (SS) was one of the most well documented german panzer divisions of the war. In the battle of normandy they had Panzer 4s and Panther tanks.
In my opinion they should be replaced for the americans by the M18 Hellcat and for the Germans with the Panther D of course who already unlocked them they should have both options available.
M18 can deal with all german tanks and vice versa, so shouldn’t be a problem.
and for the Panther D its bad turret rotation and slow reverse speed should be handicap enough, as stuarts can still deal with it from the sides and between gun mantlet and hull from front (same as Jumbo)
obviously this is just my opinion I know some of you might disagree for balancing but hey, everyone in here wants this game to be more to their liking so here

agree! the jumbo has very good frontal armor but still lacks the gun to effectively deal with panzer IVs
The Chaffee tank is a beast i love it, can still kill Panzer IV without an issue can u can flank very easily

Panzer 3 M on the other hand when you go vs decent Jumbo/ Sherman players its an instant lost, nothing u hit will penetrate since it has 50mm Cannon RIP, unless the driver is bad u cant win vs them
Yeah. Agree I have the premium panzer. I’ll only penetrate on a pixel size MG hatch on the front. With no damage at all.
So far I have only managed to kill 3 jumbos. All of them with a furry style of flank while shooting. Nervous experiences. Kinda week for a premium tank xD but it’s so fun to play with

Devs have confirmed that if it was in use in the same year/ approximately same technological time period (as in not Tigers in Moscow or RPD in Berlin) then it will be in game.
They also did have Panzer 3s in reserve.
I’ve been checking the forums fairly regularly lately and did not see it, might have skipped that.
shame about the same year its quite a gap from normandy to battle of the bulge with Jumbo 76s and jagdpanzer iv s with the L/70 gun hope they don’t keep adding.
where did you get the panzer 3 info? i’d love to read more about it. But if they did have them they where traning tanks that they had at mailly le camp that probably where allocated to an other unit. as of the beginning of the invasion 12th panzer regiment had only panzer 4s and panthers, if you want i’ll find the book and tell you exactly which companies and platoons had panzer 4s and panthers
german divisions rotated panzer battalions/companies quite often and by the end of july there where no reserves on division level especially panzers.
that’s why you distract it and let infantry kill it…
