I don’t know how all the guns behave after the latest weapon rebalance, but
If you gave me for free Moscow’s Pz IV w/ HEAT, laser Lewis squad, laser MG-13 squad; Normandy’s Firefly, Sherman, Kiraly squad, laser BAR squad, Moscow’s laser AS-44 and STG-45 squad (although I would have to give up my dignity for using fantasy weapons) - I would take and use them all over aything else I have in the campaign, no questions asked.
So I really don’t think they’re pointless.

I have them both and I can tell you that, while still good, they’re definitely not lasers anymore.
Dispersion feels increased, let’s say within a “reasonable” yet tangible level.
You can’t just snipe with them anymore, even when mounted you may need to fire a short burst to make sure you score a hit on a soldier further than 50m.
Static, engineer-built MG nests feel still accurate tho. But they got their firing arcs partially nerfed.

Yes. Please allow us to change the class of at least soldier per premium squad (or preferably, 1 soldier per 4 in a squad) into engineer / bomber / radio operator / gunner / sniper.

Double XP? you cannot make all your squads fully upgrade before reaching campaign max level
Premiums squads got neutered hard after CBT. They should come with at least one specialist upgrade like current premium and event squads. Hell, since premium squads cost a crap ton they should have their own squad slot. I absolutely despise not being able to play a fair chunk of premium squads I own in battles.
I think myself and @Shiivex have been clamoring for this as well.
The new squads they release and the event squads only reinforce the fact that the old premium squads are very much lacking.
F2P Player cry alot about these Slots, the most p2w inGame are the Squadslots.

I always look at the Erma squad in normandy and wish it had a engineer and I would get it In a heartbeat.
One day I wish I see a make enlisted a better place, “we added a engineer on every premium squad that didn’t had one”. And even if they keep the same prices, I can say for certain they would sell way more of them.

Right now tons of my premium squads are on reserve, and I don’t remmeber the last time I purchased one…
All it needs is a 5th member as engineer, and or a 9th one swaped as engineer on trooper squads…
I mean… Is it too much to ask for when they are worth 30-50 euros each…
And every free to play squad, even if the premium get the 5th as engineer can have yet more options. so no p2w at all.

Or releasing weapons then you could use at other squads.

IMO, premium squads should have their own permanent slots. So lets say you buy the Soviet M3, AVT 40 squad and the Arisaka squad, you’ll have your standard squad slots, plus the 3 premium squads you now own. Would it mess with balancing, probably. Would it also be considered more p2w, likely . But with how grossly overpriced premium squads are, they need more incentive for people to buy them.

They, according to keo answer, are already aware, ence why they made the current premium interactions with the extra slot, and also according to keo, he doesn’t know if it’s possible to provide an extra soldier, or change old premium squads.
