Premium Squads (Day 1 of asking for changes)

Here I am once again asking for some kind of attention for the premium squads. I play activly such a long time and now i feel like i havent encountered a single premium squad in months. The only reason why they arent used anymore is because they arent just not competitive with free squads, they are almost completely useless. I know “ThEy GoT aN eXpErIEnCe BoOsT” but that isnt really noticable since most of them got only 4 men which get slaughtered in seconds after spawning when they are controlled by the AI. Each round i get around 8 to 15k campaign experience and the premium squad boost is only adding like 0,5 to 2k for me, thats not a good offer for a 30$ squad, i wouldnt even mind if the boost is removed because its almost not noticable anyways, also in the future update of adding tunisisa, they said they will make it easier to get campaign experience easier to get, what means the boost of the premium squads almost have no use at all. Premium squads got cool and unique uniforms which i really enjoy but i never get to see them so why would that matter, maybe an ability to apply the uniforms to other squads when customization releases would be a little bit enjoyable. A squad without an engeneer is way to weak because you cant build spawn points or refill ammo with the supplyboxes, what means premium squads would force you to play alone insted of working together and helping your team with spawn points (I think we all know how annoying it is if no one builds spawnpoints) or ammo supplyboxes. Please change anything…
Now a comparison of free squads and most of the premium ones:

Base comparison:

Free special squad:
-4 specific soldiers with 3 different other specialists which you can unlock (like 4 assaulters and 3 others like engeneer, radio or anti-tank soldiers)
-many weapon options for each soldier
-replacable soldiers which can be ranked up and used in other squads, can be used to get more rank 5 soldiers through the academy
-ability to use rank 5 soldiers with best perks and rank 5/6 weapons each soldier can equip

Premium squad:
-4 same class soldiers
-only one weapon to use, no variety
-soldiers cant be replaced or used in other squads, cant be ranked up
-Only rank 4 soldiers used, no best perks like “+35 Vitality” , can only use one rank 5 gun each soldier of the squad can equip

As you see, the premium squads are worse than the free ones and offer less options and they wont let you get further than rank 4 soldiers since they cant help rank up normal soliders to get more and better rank 5 soldiers.

Also there are even more benefits of using a free squad:

  • there are “soldier class” I and “soldier class” II, soldier class II offers more perk points and a stronger base perk than soldier class I, you get more powerful perks at once. Premium squads are always only “soldier class I” what means they are simply one step worse and weaker than the free “soldier class” II’s

I know some may say that the machinegunner squads got 4 machinegunners insted of the 3 free machinegunners in the free squads. This is true and could be changed somehow (maybe remove one machinegunner and let him be used in a free squad so he isnt taken away from the customers inventory and add 3 soldier classes to the premium squads, just like in the free ones). But you cant forget that free machinegunner squads got almost unlimited ammo to keep firing forever since you can build ammo supply crates with the engeneer you can unlock.

Premium squads should at least be not that bad and maybe be competitive to at least free "soldier class I’s.

Different Ideas to solve the problem:

  • ability to choose 3 additional other soldier classes like in the free squads

  • ability use other guns and soldiers on them

  • ability to use premium guns in free squads

  • ability to use premium soldiers in free squads (all at once or only one in each squad, like the soldier class limitation mechanic in free squads)

  • ability to use their clothes on free squads when character customization releases

  • make them cheaper if there arent any changes in the premium squads

  • add unique voice lines for premium soldiers

  • make them rank 5 soldiers again

  • way higher experience boosts

Feel free to add any ideas ijn the comments how the developers could improve premium squads again without making them OP or better than the free squads and i try to add them to the list.

Do they?

Because the community is requesting a rework since a while now, and nothing is done.
The more threads about it, the more visibility it has.

The fact I’ll need (ahem…) to buy yet another premium bundle weaker than any free regular squads to enter Tunisia just urge that point even more for me.

From a manpower standpoint and what you are able to do with theme in battle, they don’t last as long or have all the capabilities of a regular squad .

However because of their bonuses they do have the potential to generate as much XP as a regular squad. So yeah they are weak from one standpoint but to make them larger would make them OP in their ability to farm XP …

Wich would be completely fine: it would be the same principle as buying a premium account.

This kind of monetization is ok for ftp games, what isn’t is pay to WIN squads. They would be pay to REDUCE GRIND squads. Any pure ftp player would never be at a disadvantage in matchs against such squads.

And yes, ppl who pay should have “something” (duh). Reduced grind time is perfectly acceptable.

Well not quite the same because the revenue the game generates off of premium account, I believe is much larger than the revenue they generate off of premium squads …

So from a business model, encouraging premium accounts generates more income. However there is still the question …

If then they allowed us to increase the size of a premium squad which would also increase the ability to farm XP, would the the game lose premium accounts in favor of FTP?

And would the increase in players purchasing premium sguads make up the difference?

Things don’t change instantly, they did say in the Q&A session a while back that they would look into reworking them, but it isn’t top priority. Just because nothing has happened yet, doesn’t mean that they have abandoned it.

If you don’t like them, they why buy them? If you REALLY wanted to make a point, you wouldn’t even entertain this idea.

You misunderstood.

I like the squads per say: unique uniforms, vehicles, weapons. The +xp is also a nice addition for buyers, that isn’t game breaking and won’t disadvantage freeloaders.

What I dislike is that those squads are not worth using in game. They are in every aspects weaker than regular squads.

I would buy ALOT more squads if they were worth buying (I like collecting things that are different). Now I limit myself to the bundles allowing access in CBT.

And it was!

But the devs overnerfed it. Nobody wanted 7 assaulters or 7 lmg guys.
All what people wanted was squads JUST AS GOOD as regular ones (with xp bonus to justify such a high price) and unique uniforms/weapons. Nobody asked for BETTER stuff…

You are overcomplicating things too much.
In fact, with changes such as these:

I have to ask you… what is the point of having premium squads in the first place? Just give us ability to change uniforms like there is no tomorow no matter to which squad they belong, (hells even let us change our tankers into sniper uniforms if I go to absurdity) and give premium weapons said exp boost.

Just solving the composition to reflect regular squad but with 1. exp boost, 2. unique weaponry, 3. unique uniforms would do the trick. Also, rank V soldier should be at least an unlockable option after some (not too much) grind.
