For some reason, the devs see fit to make flying as awkward as possible. Would be nice if we could practice on the practice level…

What irks me the most is that the Russian biplane can hardly turn, when in reality that thing could swivel on a dot

(this is just me but I’m fine with the controls, and how the planes perform)
I tried the practice, but the plane unit was greyed out so I assumed it couldnt be used. Thanks guys.
You have to wait the minute and then it will be available. When they put in the minute delay to allow people out of the spawns, it also implemented in the Practice mode.
