Game will have italian front at some point and nations will be seperated.
The problem is; there were two italies after sicily.
After defeat at sicily, italian king an gov. started negotiations with allies and imprisoned mussolini to gran sasso.
Germans launched operation achse. Occupied italy , disarmed royal italian army. Then created italian social republic ( german puppet ) in central- north italy. It had 300 k troops in national republican army.
King emanuel and anti german elements fled south and joined allies. Their army had similar numbers and called co belligerent army/ southern army (as continuation of royal army).
So a player who is playing italy in north africa now( royal army) will fight against germans in monte cassino or gothic line ?
We never see the Italian civil war because is too much complicated at political level, the best is a uniform rework and add sicily to tunisia and the rest of africa theatre
I think dev won’t bother to add Allies Italy. Italian front will just be the same thing as Tunisia like German and Italy vs British and USA.
I wish they’d just ignore all of that and add Italy with Italian weapons
They could do a lot with the Italians:
Crete
Italian East Africa
Ealy War in the Desert Before the Germans got there
Leros in 43, with Italy Fighting alongside the British against the Germans
Italians in Russia
Italians vs the Greeks
Lot’s of possibility’s
Those are not possibility, Those are one map with 40lv each, no thanks
Crete, would be a large map with potentially lots of different possibilities, or could be part of a larger Greek campaign, the Greeks used a lot of different weapons from all over the place including Italian weapons so would be interesting. Pluss the British/CW fought there as well of course.
Italian East Africa, did last a relatively long time well over a year, against British and CW forces, not to mention Native forces as well on both sides, and is a Huge area of the planet, with a lot of potential equipment we have not seen yet in game, especially aircraft.
Leros in 43, could be a couple different Islands including Kos, but was more a set piece battle than a campaign per say, so yes that might be a problem.
Italians in Russia is another huge area over a couple, years.
And there were two Sicilies before Italy.
Seriously though you’re overthinking.
It’ll be allies vs axis, not country list vs country list.
You know I thought about the same thing about how ideally we would have 2 campaigns, Sicily and Italy. But after the Pacific they seem to be going with a more nuanced approached, so most likely we would get a single Italian campaign
Who knows we’ll just have to see
Can’t wait to get the new Italy campaign where both sides are Italy but somehow one side will still have less players than the other.
