I believe both of the weapons in the title have a bolt hold open when the magazine is empty, so why is the charging handle always being actuated in the reload animation? I don’t think the bolt ever needs to be manually moved if the soldier starts out ready to fire from the start. Possibly other open bolt designs have this hold open feature, like the BAR?
I could be wrong though. All this would really change is a slightly faster reload.
