Maybe if you got a personal preference with the vehicle Emotional connection? Ancestor drove one? (You say your choice is biased?)
Granted, in Stalingrad, I LOVE the pz4G.
In Tunisia the pz4 is by favourite (along with crusader)
In Normandy, pz4H is a very good all rounder.
I love glass canons.
But for some reason in Berlin the pz4 struggles a lot, even as a glass canon: it’s difficult to pen the late war t34-85 (normal) but when it does pen if you aim well, it might most of the time require more than one shot. Whereas t34-85 requires 1 shot… in the general direction of the pz4 to atomize it.
Changes with panther, and in Berlin it’s equivalent with t34-85, because reasons.
See I’ve never had difficulty with the Panzer IV in Berlin even when fighting the higher level vehicles like the IS heavies, if I can get that first shot off even just to cripple the crew I normally come out on top. I won’t argue though that the Pz IV is infact a glass canon it cannot take a hit from anything and I never actually take it to combat over my King Tiger, Panther, and Panzer IV/70(V) unless I’m just looking for the lols
Depends on which one you’re referring to. The IV/70(V) premium is fantastic it can be odd to use on Berlin of course given the lack of a turret but once you get the hang of how you need to maneuver and position yourself it’s a very well armed and armored vehicle. The front armor is fantastic at protecting you from Russian 85s. The Panzer IV/70(V) has a special place in my heart though it’s my favorite tank just in general so I’m a tiny bit bias about this too
However if you’re referring to the IV/70(A) from the campaign tree then I’d say stick with the Panther. That particular vehicle is so incredibly awkward. It has a good gun but that’s about it for the benefits of that vehicle
I loved the Semonvente BEFORE it was nerfed somehow. Used to be a brick on thread, allies vehicles couldn’t pen it, often resorting to 1000lb bombs or built at guns (those worked… reasons)
Only downside was, that vs infantry, it wasn’t a very dangerous threat…
Honestly the IS-2’s full potential favors more on slow engagements even with the loader perks than supporting rushes which the T-34-85 is better at doing because of mobility and reload speed.
I have both loader perks for my IS-2 loader which is a huge deal despite its still longer than other top tier guns in the game. For slower paced matches like attackers being slow on pushing, as a defender or armored train matches then yeah the IS-2 can do the job well but like I said not the tank for supporting rushes unlike T-34-85.
