You should award points for sitting on a cap point, so many games where cap point is empty all game and enemy just walk in and take it. No one usually wants to sit on the actual cap point as often its very boring…

You could also get a slight bonus to any kills you get while inside the defending zone, which has been a feature in these types of games for years now.
