I have play lot of Invasion gamemode as game give me it very often. I mostly play russia despite be in queue for both so most of experience is on defend side.
I often have many bad match where we lose when I feel we should not lose. I am often at top of scoreboard on team in a win or loss so it not me not do good enough.
I think I know of possible solution. In other game (like war thunder) or I think in not-invasion point based gamemodes, if you are not on point, progress on point tick down back to zero. I think if not on point the attacker progress should fade. Instead now attacker side must just make as many suicide charges onto point to cap until they get moment when defender not there and they get cap because previous progress stay so capture too quick.
In short due to ramble:
In Invasion gamemode, when attacker team is NOT on the point, capture progress should fade until it reaches zero again.
That pretty much sums up my experience of Invasion when playing both sides. The defenders should be able to decap if they wipe the attackers out. As it stands it’s just dropping arty on it to kill people through the walls and then banzai charging it over and over until you cap it since the progress doesn’t fade. It’s honestly pretty unfair since the defenders can sit on it for twenty minutes and the attackers keep their advantage in cap progress.
Often enough a majority of russian players are actually AI. Check your scoreboard at the end of the match for players with roughly equal kills and squad deaths. Those are most likely AI.
The Soviet team can win pretty easily by setting up MG nests in strategic positions and keeping the enemy from reaching the capture points, if they have enough players to keep that up. But generally, they don’t due to the aforementioned bot issue.
Generally Soviets complain about win rate, while Germany complain about individual weapon statistics.
Yes, Soviet guns OP. But if only half the people on your team are actual humans, it doesn’t do a whole lot and you will lose anyways.
I haven’t played the most recent patch so I am unsure whether they were changed, but most soviet OP threads were from that time as well:
All german bolt actions deal 12-13 damage, except for the grenade launcher variant that deals 15 damage
Soviets get 1 12 damage bolt action, 1 13 damage bolt action, the rest deal 15 damage
This one is most devastating as the premium squads are impossible to oneshot with the german bolt actions with the exception to headshots, while russian guns can oneshot the german premium soldiers on upper torso.
German SMGs have both lower damage per shot and lower firerate than the soviet guns
Soviets get access to a M30 Luftwaffe Drilling shotgun reskin, while germany does not get their own shotgun.
Soviets get both high RoF SMGs with the PPDs and slow firing ones for midrange with the PPK
If you need to win just cover point with mg or tank. People gonna die. And dont forget to burn enemy tanks. Take care about your team. They struggle a lot of german steel. Mark targets. mark even you aint sure somebody there. Its not recomendations for you. Just thoughts.
I think now its pretty balanced game mode btw.
Most soviet rifles have 13 damage to. Its 1981 and 1938 carabines. You need to take a lot of supplies to get something better. Btw you can upgrade Ka98 for 15 damage easly.
Um… that’s what assault mode does while also making it even more difficult for Germans because they have to hold two points at once to progress/win. But I find assault to be a well balanced mode because the Soviet team essentially have to split and defend both points while Germans too have to do the same and defend it. You need a lot of communication to make it happen. But one good German SMG squad can take and hold a point long enough for his teammates to cap the other zone. Each team has their shortcomings, but they also have their advantages.
But if you bring the same dialling back to zero in invasion mode, Soviets can put more bodies in the zone as well as Germans. If there are enough players on the Russian side, they can set up a couple of MGs around the zone,while also bringing two tanks to defend both sides of the zone and put the rest of the squad inside and around the cap zones. That is an easy win especially in the 2, 4, and 5th zones where the attacking team does not have a lot of area to move around or sneak in to throw grenades.
Suicide charges would have been fine if Germans had unlimited respawns. But right now, Germans have a 1000 and bit extra with point captured while the Soviet has unlimited respawn. Soviets also have the luxury of setting up MGs and positioning tanks to take out any advancing infantry. Germans being the attacking team, MGs is not a very realistic option.
I played the whole of alpha test with the Soviets and I rarely had issues holding off Germans in invasion mode. Remember, Germans had much better weapons then and MGs did not exist. The current win rate boils down to the player base on each side. I’ve always seen invasion mode as one that heavily favours Soviets.
Personally, if there is any change to brought into invasion mode, then it should be limiting the Soviet reinforcements.
You just contradicted your previous sentence. Do you think the RNG system work differently for Germans?
The lack of rally points I see placed is why I see the soviets lose invasion a lot.
But of course when most of your team is AI led squads they can’t use the engineer role.
Seriously though if you are playing invasion always have an engineer in at least one of your squads and always place down a rally point somewhere. Takes a while to build so order your squad into the objective while you do so.
