Some MGs have better arcs, some don’t.
Some have better dispersion, some don’t.
Some overheat faster, some don’t.
The difference in performance makes certain MGs worth building, and some near-worthless. MG-34s have the worst firing arcs of all buildable MGs, for example.
For whatever reason, the overheat values are tweaked so that no matter the RoF, MGs overheat at roughly the same time, which is egregious when you have a very slow-firing Japanese Hotchkiss firing at 390 RPM overheating at the same rate, if not faster than a Dshk despite firing less bullets.
I’m not asking to make all buildables the same, I’m asking for a consistent kind of performance that you can build and then hop onto any fixed MG and not have to take into account arbitrary peculiarities that would bleed into the actual performance of the weapon.
People spent so long asking for unique buildables and here you are complaining about them, i actually rather like my Japanese mgs not overheating in 0.3 seconds even at a lower rate of fire.
I personally love the a-symetry of war reflected in a game. I wish there’d be more accurate a-symmetries. The fact that Japanese have so many SMG’s for example bothers me. They should have larger squads and more bolt action focused.
MG’s should retain their unique characteristics as well.
I mean we already got a sword when America got a shotgun we can forgot them having a little bit of repeating firepower since the sig 1920 is the only good smg they get
