Please, set up proper fragmentation damage

First off, I need to commend devs for setting up proper grenade damage. Grenades kill people with fragments and not with explosion itself (mostly) which is how it should be. However, this issue is not fixed when it comes to shells.

-50mm mortars have very little splash damage, I mostly see people getting killed when the shell hits 1-3 meters away from them

-37 mm German and 45 mm Soviet tank cannons do not have adequate fragmentation damage as well. I need to hit somebody directly to kill them. I’m not saying that it should be a WMD, but it should at least do some damage 4-5 meters around where it hit.

-I don’t know the caliber of artillery that radiomen call in, but I assume it’s 105-152 mm shells. It almost looks like they have no fragments whatsoever. I can stand straight and look at arty shell exploding ~10-15 meters away and I will not receive any damage, or just will just have a tiny bit of health sliced off. Furthermore, stuff like wooden walls makes me immune to shells that hit right next to me on the other side. Fragments should penetrate armor and cover as well.

-Last, but not least is that you can set up a delay (like on APHE) on HE shells, so that they will, for example, penetrate the wall of the house and explode inside like a grenade. That’s how they destroyed bunkers and fortifications IRL.

Idk about you guys but I hope that Enlisted will develop the same way Wart Hunder did, where they try to be realistic-ish. In a world where I need to choose between having to shoot somebody in the chest 3 times to kill them like in CoD and having an insane level of microcontrol like Arma, I feel like Enlisted will fit in this niche of realistic, but convenient shooter. So I hope devs will look into issues of making it better in that aspect.

Hello and welcome, I explained why they won’t do such thing a lot of times and I’ll explain again.

Let’s look on normal grenade, around 50g of explosive, the radius of grande explosion is 15-10 meters and grenades are the size of your hand.

Let’s look on 75mm HE from the sherman around 600g (probably more like 650g) of explosive filler and 75mm which is bigger than hand grenade by a lot so if the hand grenade had range of 15-10 meters how much you think something that is 12 times bigger will have? Around 30-40 meters.

If they’d buff HE to realistic way it will be just hand grenade spam and explosive packs spam and will ruin the game.

Now I think that they should buff HE a bit (at least on the German 37mm) and change the american 37mm HE to shotgun shells instead but wide buff? I don’t think is needed

We could keep the grenades nerfed, and explosive packs don’t have a metal jacket so they wouldn’t fragment at all.

I thought explosive packs are just place holder for anti tank grenades

Its not gonna break a game because people are goona stop flocking on the same path and seek for cover instead of standing in the open. Plus I think what you are saying is an exagerration. 30-40 meters is a radius at which you can get hit, it does not mean you will get killed. Grenades are going to be effective at close ranges only - literally a distance of grenage throw - out that reach they will be useless.

Grenades are going to be effective at any throw range and from my experience? I can throw grenade up to 30-35 meters away if I angle it right the maps in this game are very small (300m× 300m ) and 40 meters of damage is a lot (more than capture point size…) People will clean every sector in seconds it it will Destroy the flow of the game completely
