There are many games where leaning is legit broken like rainbow six, here in enlisted it only “looks” ridiculous…
To be honest, I don’t even think leaning is relevant in the game anyways, wouldn’t mind if it completely disappeared.

Can we not complain about leaning we need to complain about the camera angle it’s in our neck So leaning doesn’t even help because the camera angles broken

It’s kinda useful, but only in cover. The ability to pop-up and shoot without exposing the whole of your body reduces the chance to be killed by body shot. But the “lean-masters” that do it in the open gain nothing, because leaning messes up your aim and while making it harder to headshot, they will definitely die to the gut shot instead.

All u see i in fact outdated … there is around 0.3s delay between what you see and what the server register
And it s getting worse and worse now i can killtrade with rifle at 10m distance all is perfect on netcode but NOONE talks about it

A possible way to limit this is give more dispersion and/or more recoil just during changing position from straight to lean (not while at lean), as well as add a little more time to change position to lean or change back from lean, so people have to be prepared to lean and shoot, not leaning left or right randomly and frequently, otherwise they will have reduced firepower.

which adamn forgets that people complained about historical accuracy and matter of fact, devs did removed the actual panther F from the battle of berlin and replaced it with a panther g.
( the panther F can still be found in the editor and used in mods )
( so, therefore most likely will be reintroduced as premium or what not )
but it kinda worked.
beside for the topic at hand regarding the open leaning, i agree, it’s just stupid.
and we can clearly be better of without it.

In other games which have long TTK, that reduced chance of headshot do help, but here, shot in centre of body is usually still lethal (also large impact on aimed direction), so that “lean technique” will not be practically effective.
I think that these leaning guys are more than likely not the kind of player that you will see just blindly running into battle and getting shot to bits time and again. They keybind so’s that they can play with tactics, showing very little of themselves when in doorways and obstacle’s etc. I`m sure it works for them, so why not, even if it does look a little silly out in the open.

You are asking them to unnecessarily mess with mechanics that will cause more issues than the small visual issue you are hoping to fix.
The ability to mount your weapon is finicky enough as it is, now you want to make leaning have a toggled range from cover too? Which cover? Do you want them to make every bit of standing cover in the game interactive?
What if you are using a tree for cover but are not right up against it? Are you going to force them to hug the tree in order to quickly lean for a shot?
By making the lean situational to corners and specific cover, you will end up making it predictable (people will watch areas they know people can lean) and destroy the habit of using it almost completely. Similar to how people don’t mount guns often enough.

there is now in game automatic leaning when you in corners of any cover that you automatically lean and that is what is sufficient for this game

Is there a tangible gain to lean in the open before/while shooting? It’s a little weird to see but usually it makes me laugh. If there is no actual benefit to doing this without cover, I don’t care for it. If there is a recoil or gain shooting a gun, this should be considered for review.
I agree that lean mechanism should be kept. However, the problem is usually not “at leaned position” but randomly and frequently leaning to different direction, so only give reduced firepower (more dispersion and/or recoil) during changing position to lean but not affecting when at leaned position should solve this without make lean mechanism useless, because a more reasonable use of lean is usually when prepared to approach side of cover, the solider should already be in lean position before target appear in sight.
