Just in case anyone forgets.
All faction BR 2 SMGs are generally already very, very good that their only flaw is that they either have limited mag sizes or are not firing a bigger bullet like the assault rifles.
So why is it that very good SMGs are paired the starter shitbox LMGs?
Why is it that the minimum BR of LMGs, no matter how bad, such as the Chauchat/Madsen/Breda BR 2?
If we lower the minimum BR of LMGs, then we would have a more acceptable selection and choice of LMGs for BRs 2 and 3 when redundant/similar models get moved down.
If there is a balance argument to be made, I’d like to hear it from the devs. We have SMGs with next-to-no recoil at lower BRs with performance characteristics more suitable to the run-n-gun meta.

The logic isn’t flawed at all, though I think BR 1 would be even better if all of the SMGs at BR 1 were pretty weak, like S1-100/MP 34(o) levels.
Because mgs do rifle damage while smgs do pistol damage, mgs have more range than smgs, it would raise the roof for mgs at br5 and bring 50 round German mgs to br2 which for you would be a feature and not a bug given that allies west and east fight Germany no for all that is good and light god no

In spite of the “rifle damage”, even at max upgrade level, they cannot oneshot someone with the vitality perk.

Three options
Create br1 mgs weaker than br2, how many br2 mgs have only 20-30 rounds
Move br2 mgs to br1 and create new br2 between current br2 and br3
Move br2 mgs to br 1 br3 to br2 and create new br3 mgs between current 3 and 4
In which case you have 50 mag at br2
So where do I lack substance and no you can’t just have br1 and br2 mgs be the same power
What if I told you… Reducing the minimum BR doesn’t necessitate giving every existing LMG a -1 to their existing BR?

Madsen is definitly a good one not the best but you just have to put bipod on and the kill are coming easy
Mostly both kill in two shots.
Crazy that Para boxes are still messed up like that.

Although the Madsen isn’t terrible, The RPK 1943 is much better, however DF neutered it by only giving it a 15 round mag. Unfortunately, it’s a BP gun, but IMOP should be tech tree with at least a 20 round mag.
Machine guns to level one? Hmm, I don’t know, I think they should have them especially since some of the MG’s are pretty sad at level two, just as the MP 18 assaulter squad is sad at level two, but DF in their infinite wisdom classified them level two.

Is the Madsen really that strong though? Or the Breda or the Vickers?
Well, the Madsen is technically already WW1 and older and Russia frankly has not a lot of MGs to pick from excluding protos etc. A lot of German WW1 MGs also mostly had big ammo pool that would be too much for BR2, let alone BR1.
