After playing this game for about 2 months or so, I enjoy it very much, but sometimes games feel disappointing because it’s filled with either bots or players who left/disconnected early that have been replaced with bots. I typically try to push for teamwork by marking targets and occasionally typing in major threats (example: “stuka is up”) but only to find that sometimes half the team is running into walls or bad locations where there’s a concentration of death (MGs, tanks, bombs, etc), and I try my best to help our team accordingly, which feels like talking to a wall at times. Sometimes, victories for my team also feel diminished because I suspect the enemy team is filled with bots that play terribly with maybe 3 or 4 real players.
It would be nice to have bots marked as such, so games do not end in such disappointment.
I understand the need for this game to have bots, otherwise matchmaking might take forever or games will have low playercount, and I am totally fine with the compromise, but it would be nice to have a system like War Thunder where bots are tagged in player roster accordingly so at least I don’t have to waste my time thinking I can talk to fellow live players.
The exact reason I asked for a way to know it at least post mortem.
Based on other forum answers, AI squads have some typical equipment so it’s not entirely impossible to detect in-game, but I can’t do that yet. So thanks for the suggestion!
some days ago, I was in a team full of players doing barely nothing than shooting (not killing, just shooting) without going to the capture point or try to get in. They just try to kill and that’s it.
Then I thought they where bots because was not possible in a 20 min match all my team mates has 1,2 or 6 deaths (remember, they don’t try to capture the point, just shoot)
I took an screenshoot and try to ad them in “ad a friend” menu. All they where real players!!!
Yeah, I totally get there are some new players that play terribly, and I can stomach that
But sometimes, it’s very off-putting knowing that your advice may or may not fall on deaf ears, because I tend to remind players on the team to perform certain simple actions (like spotting, building spawn points, etc). If they were bots, then it’s no different than talking to a wall…
my only interactions with random players are
them: need enemy cordinate plz im useless here
me: fuck you and get off that thing twenty minutes in invasion and you did 10 kills
till my 7 yo kid kills more than 10 players in a short match. Is incredible how some players just can kill 4-5 players in a full match. what are they doing?
So that we know when its 4 players vs 10 players, so we can leave said match because of not existing team balance.
The fact that we dont get “even teams” from the start is outrageous!
I can understand that if ppl leave the match and bots take said player over that we get uneven teams.
…But from the start? 100% unacceptable.
Team balance is NOT negotiable “period”.
So since we are already getting lots of ppl leaving matches on Berlin, if we let the whole player base know how many AI squads are on each team, the situation we have will get a lot worse, so I guess thats why the devs are not changing stuff atm, but oh man, they will have to, otherwise ppl will quit the game in the long run. Thats for sure.
