Lvt1, M3 Soviets, Axis half-track all need ai manning the machine gun positions, technically tanks mg positions could be updated too.
Imo all vehicles should have AI gunners when possible with option to turn them on/off at will during batyle (with exceptions like coax and commander MGs that are 100% player controlled).

Actually it would be better to have 3 settings:
- AI only
- Player only
- Player priority - if player can’t use the MG because of the fire arcs, it’s manned by AI (so for example hull MG would be player controlled if he is looking forward and AI controlled when looking sideways/backwards)
More AI doing stuff is good. Game is getting better with AI upgrade

The machine gunner of a Japanese tank is almost unnecessary
that’s mostly because they’re not used by AI presently, and they’re not coaxial guns either…
This would be an incredibly useful bit of counter Det pack spam for vehicles.
The AI should understand which crew position is currently “occupied” by the active player, and then use the other available soldiers to carry out either offensive or defensive tasks based on their current set of orders/aggression set up.
This would allow the heavy AFVs to actually do their job as breakthrough tanks, you should be able to set your crew to aggressive tank defence and blaze MGs at any infantry who are in LOS of the crew position in a given arc.
