Please, enlarge the distance of the cancelling order

Hello, I write you because it’s really shame for players that the orders to the squad cancel to early, please, I ask you to enlarge, to triple or more the distance of the cancelling of the orders to the squad.

this would be helpful especially in junction with my suggestion (Advanced squad orders)

I agree that the size needs to be increased. Maybe not TRIPLE the distance, but at least double. Keep in mind if the size is increased too much, many players will just leave the squad behind a wall and run forward one at a time. This breaks the game a bit as a whole as its designed around squads fighting squads. That said, I do have the issue of trying to move forward with one guy (engineer) to quietly set up a fortified position that they can then move up to and fight from.

this would not be an issue, should devs improve damned dumb AI

in fact, people leaving squads behind is a clear indicator that AI is too weak.

Trust me, I don’t disagree with you. Unfortunately a lot of the people that are vocal here on the forums are obsessed with making Enlisted follow in CODs footsteps. They don’t want to deal with AI. They only want run-and-gun tactics. They don’t want to deal with engineering fortifications. etc.

I’d really like to see an improvement similar to your suggestion, but also be able to fluidly give commands without having to go into the map. A point to point system maybe even using the binoculars (that are vastly underutilized currently). AI making smart use of cover. Being able to give orders to set mines (would also work REALLY well with your map suggestion). Being able to use MG nests.

Even further down the line, if they consumed ammo and were smart enough to grab ammo when they passed a box, and same with medkits for the medic box. As an engineer main, its really frustrating to me that the ammo boxes that I put down even in high traffic areas are almost never used. Why? Because most people just switch to their next guy that is always basically full on ammo rather than using an ammo box. The exception is special ammos like AT weapons or mortars that there are few of and have to obtain more ammo that way. If ammo was consumed by AI, even when a player switches to them they would make use of the ammo boxes.

I digress, my point being is that I agree that a lot more needs to be done with the AI in terms of control and movement.

Like I said before, the vocal people usually aren’t very interested in things like this. I’ve had the same issue.
Also, longer reads like this a lot of people just skip past.

yeah… they might just as well go back where they came from in this case…

Also, please make it to where if I place an individual soldier WITHIN an objective, they will stay no matter where I go. Similar to how they will go and stay AT an objective when ordered, but that makes them cluster in the center of the point and be easy pickings. If I have them contest a point, at least let it be where I want.

Overall, the distance should be increased perhaps a tad. I cant line up an entire infantry squad decently spaced without the one at the end losing his place due to distance.
