While we’re on the topic of the P-38s, one thing that stuck with me is the fact that all the P-38s that have ordnance share the same load out of 6x M8 rockets, I seriously think that for variety’s sake the J model should have its rockets changed for 500lbs bombs.
This is something that is not only historically accurate
but also possible in WT
and other games like IL-2
All the while one of the most impressive feats ever done with a P-38 is a pretty sick bomb-skip into a bunker, that’s just action movie material right there
So my suggestions would be:
- Change rockets for 2x 500lbs bombs (Keep at BR III)
- Change rockets for 4x 500lbs bombs (Move to BR IV)
- No (Why?)
And that would be it, I think I made my case here for the changes I would love to see to the P-38 family and that would be a wrap for my year in Enlisted, thanks again for reading and once again hope you have an excellent new years!

P38 Speed with 500lb ehhh no thank you unless german gets equivalent because honestly id rather use the BR1 re 2001 CN prem over 50 kgs or rockets… IAR performance is trash.

While I am dissatisfied with the strike ordnance on the P38s, we already have one TT and several Event planes at BR3 allies that have two 500lb bombs, and the P51 is capable enough even against br4 aircraft that I don’t see the need to give the p38J, as a fighter, the same bomb load they gave us in the A20.
And what would you suggest to alleviate that dissatisfaction about the ordnance?
Honestly? I’m okay with being dissatisfied. Maybe buff the M8 rockets, wich would make the Lightnings and the A20 with them maybe worth flying
As it is, I fly the Mustangs and the premium P40 when I’m at mid BR USA, and that probably wouldn’t change anyway. Harder to kill tanks with rockets, unless you’ve got a lot (p47) or are just supernaturally good at aiming them.

? I’m saying the p38s excellent performance par from turning with 500lbs i think would be unfair in br3 especially considering the p51 already exists and germany has no analog… symmetrical balance is only of a concern it seems with things like tiger 2.
Well I made a suggestion for the Fw family actually, and tomorrow I’m thinking of doing one for the Bf 109 as well
