Can we get a change of weapons for the Normandy campaign AT guns? America gets a PIAT which can one-shot Panzer 4’s while Axis gets a Sturmpistole which can’t even seem to pen a regular Sherman from any location. Not to mention the even better jumbo.
Can we change it to a Bazooka for America and a Panzershreck for Germany? Or at least a panzerfaust?
I’m actually curious if this is the case, as the PIAT can do next to nothing to P4 unless you know the weakspots.
Whenever I am inside my Panzer 4 I get my entire crew killed from the front in a single use. Don’t know how but it tends to happen a lot since I play tanks the majority of the time.
Hit the ammo rack = instant kill of all those shells detonating inside. It’s pretty easy to kill shermans even with the sturmpistole just shoot it from behind. If you look at the warthunder wiki for pictures, you can get a good idea where to hit vehicles and take em out quickly. Though it’s a bit annoying since only one ammo thing is present and not all the spots.
This is why i also keep the Puma, US tanks are quite slow for their class. You can easily just drive up behind them and blast em 1-2 times.
From what I have seen, the Sherman has the ammo relatively similar place as the Stuart but the Sutrmpistole has trouble penning even the sides or rear of tanks. As for the Jumbo, the ammo is in the middle beneath the tank. So you won’t be able to hit it very easily unless you are below it.
Historically, the Sturmpistole cannot pen anything above 80 mm of armor.
I one shot with both. Theyre pretty much the same damage. Shoot fuel tanks or ammo and you one hit. If you don’t it takes forever. I honestly prefer the sturmpistole because it has better sights
I must just have terrible luck. I can’t even pen the rear or sides with it.
Hit tanks mechanics feel weird for example when i hit german PUMA which has like 9mm it should be killed with 50.cal and i have hard time even with cannon to harm it. Not sure if its done purpously to increas its survivebility but damn it feels weird. Most of things around vehycles feels weird.
I’ve only ever gotten one kill with it, after 4 shots it killed the gunner of a Stuart, that was from above and behind.
I know for a fact you can one-shot a Stuart with it in the front upper plate. But that’s all I have been able to do with it.
Only the Jumbo has good side armor. The thing is a lot of people forget firing at an angle effects penetration. Usually when i get a 1 shot with the piat/sturm its a straight shot and not an angle shot.
Sherman is 64/38/38/20 (76/51/20) 47 KPH
Jumbo is 114/76/38/25 (152/152/152/64) 35 KPH
Though I mean you do go from have imo the best tank
Puma which can go 90 KPH and when all the end tier tanks are literally HAHA CANT KILL ME FROM THE FRONT to IM ONLY LEVEL 1 GOBLIN PLEASE DONT KILL ME in the back Having the fastest tank is good and will never swap it out.
Well, for experience, at being in the both situations,
They do lot of damage and can destroy tanks but only if you use it from the side a tank, while aiming for the engine.
Although, m5 and puma has bugged models. So it’s a bit harder. But nontheless can be done with both.
There is a functioning bazooka in the game so its coming. A full replacement of the PIAT is unlikely but it also means the Panzershreck is likely
I typically just one hit whatever I shoot because I ammo rack it or fuel tank it
play both GE/US, it’s literally the same in penetration.
If anything the sturm pistol is better since the piat will make you easier to spot.
